You have the best art channel on youtube. Such a fantastic teacher and I'm always amazed with how much quality content you consistently put on here. Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge with us, Chris!
Feeling a bit jaded (and very grateful) because I was literally STRUGGLING with paiting a skull yesterday and now your posting this today 😂😂😂😂 thanks a lot coach
I really like this guy, no ego, its all about the paint and the process and he makes it so simple and takes away all the stuffy bull shit that is toxic in the art world
I don't paint but rather draw with pencils but still find this very helpful. Because these rules can be applied to any greyscale as well. so thank you.
Yes, more about drawing for painters would be great. For example part of what is good about this skull is the proportions and angle all being right. Very hard!
As always...great video! Could you, please, do a video focusing on the drawing process? I struggle with proportions and all it entails! Thanks in advance!❤️
I like that you call it grayish green, which is technically correct. Greenish gray is not correct but understandable/acceptable to me. I really don't like that some call it just gray. No matter what we do, eventually one needs to get more technical/theoretical in order to be good, so describing it correctly is useful.
Love the videos! How metal/Shakespearian of you. I would love a video breaking down drawing. Patreon, and RU-vid. I actually find help in a step-by-step, and a quick breakdown.
I like the consistency of your paint. For some reason my paint always ends up looking like it's been mixed with sand and sticks. My paintings have these little sandgrain blobs on them and I have to pick them off with my palette knife. Have you ever had this problem?
Hi Chris! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I struggle with making my paintings too dark and making it “perfect” And I end up overdoing it. How do I let my paintings be loose?
Thanks for good practical advice. Good idea to make small paintings to get colors and values right. Do you ever try non-toxic paint thinners? Could you talk about that? Love your videos!
Thank you for the awesome advice. I’m new to painting in general (like 4 months). Is it possible to tweak/correct paintings that are currently “finished”? Do you have advice on this? I did a piece that had three flowers and though I had done a really good sketch, when it came to actually doing the colors, I couldn’t figure out how to make each petal come to life, so it looks kinda blocky. I can’t describe it.
Hi Chris, I would be really glad if you could help me with painting from life. I would like to know the way to maintain my prospective and proportions of my subject while painting from life. I mean the ways to keep a study view of my model. Please help me.
As a long time W/C painter I’m trained to paint light to dark. In oil painting your supposed to paint dark to light. Is there a right or wrong way? Barbra Joan . Tallahassee
I like everything do man. love October paints. if want idea make sexy witch. combine portrait with halloween back ground or hat. if I do it I would use Disney girls face like the way look.
