Don’t worry, if it’s too dark you can press hard with the palest colours over the top to blend. That’s the joy of oils, and it creates a wonderful subtle smudge effect.
I love how you used all the base colours first and then worked from there, I’ve been doing things wrong for the whole time, you also understand lighting very well and ARE SO CONFIDENT IN USING DARK COLOURS u smart girl
BOOOOM! That was so powerfully painted. The colours in the face, the restraint of the hair, the black background with the orange aura. Love it. Inspiring.
Old video, I'm aware, but your art is truly stunning! Also, I wanted to add I like how the song is a piano cover of a Deftones song. Recognized it instantly.
Absolutely brilliant, I had no idea you could use paint thinner to blend the oil pastels. This inspires me to create portraits of people using oil pastels
I am so glad I taped on the video. I just started to use oil pastel and have learned so much just watching this video. I will be using your technic today.
Using paint thinner to blend colours. Wow. You learn something new everyday. Coming to the art. I would say its pure ASMR. Loved the painting. Loved how you did it. 😍
I drew oil pastels on watercolor paper. It took a lot of time to fill the paper surface with oil pastels. If I watched your video first, I wouldn't have to waste a lot of time. Good~!!! 👍
Yash Anand Finger blending works just as well but it can give the piece a different texture! Using thinner is a stylistic choice. Pastels are very versatile!
@@lilygomez9993 I just want to warn you though, baby oil isn't the most ideal. Using too much can leave your paper super oily and smelling like a baby lol Using too little, it won't blend out. It does work, but I still recommend using art grade mediums for blending oil pastels. :)
Thank you so much. I tried to learn using pastels but all of it look miserable. I tried replicating this piece and I'm quite happy with the work. Thank you so much for this vid. Lots of love❤️
I think there are some people who have only one work that is disliking every videos. Because this amazing painting video also have good number of dislikes.
This is FANTASTIC. I subscribed! I have never used solvent this way. I have so many questions for you! Did you use acrylic on the background? And also- I see your portrait is in a pad (what kind of paper? Canson?) Also what do you use to cover/protect your portrait when you close your book? Thank you so much. Please respond : )
I love that style of coloring...It Creates an Aesthetic Type of Texture on the portrait...just the Thing I need...Thank you for the vids😍😍i hope to see more soon...
Love it so so much, I have an oil pastel but i always wonder it can draw as well as other expensive watercolor paints. I was wrong when see this vid 😍😍😍😍
that is oil paint thinner you are using to blend? do you treat the surface after? how do you deal with the pastels getting every where (previous page that lays on top)? how do you prevent it from smudging and getting ruined? i am going to try this on my drawing tablet..my app has pastels. i think that is the best investment i have ever bought as an artist. no clean up. no mess.
💗😊💕That was lovely, I didn’t know you could use paint thinner on oil pastels. I also didn’t know you could/would use acrylic on an oil pastel work. Thank you so much for sharing!💕😊💗
I always had a oil pastels but I never learned to use the and I found this and thanks to you I now know how to use them BTW I love your confidence of using dark colors lmao! Love your drawing💓
Hey I tried this with normal oil (at homes) but didn't see any results.! Can I use anything else ? Or is it only the paint thinner to give this kind of a look.?
