Brown's reaction, the team's response, and the fans' lengthy ovation were absolutely beautiful! It's this kind of thing that makes me proud to be a lifelong Oilers fan. It's not just Gretzky, or McDavid, or the 5 cups in 7 years back when I was a kid. It's the love. The kind that takes guys like Kane and Perry and turns their careers, and their lives around. ❤
@MC-uv7on No, this is his first season with the team. This was also his first season back after a lengthy injury. He was struggling to produce all season so everybody was happy he finally scored a goal.
Man it’s one in a million that it took him this long to get one, he’s his several posts, goalies have robbed him, he had one called back. Bout time he finally gets one to go in
That’s exactly why the reaction was the way it was, the players know he should have way more goals, they know he’s deserved it, he’s worked his ass off without doing the whoa is me pout and not giving 100% every game, and that takes character and the fans know it to!! And the fact that he’s never stopped playing hard despite the bad luck!! That’s one hell of a hard fought goal and everyone appreciated it for what it was. Why Oilers fans are the best in the league cause they are so well educated and knowledgeable in the game and team that they can pick up right away why that goal was so special!!
Not an Oilers fan so I watched this video with one question on my mind? Who the hell is Connor Brown? I had to look it up to figure out how a 1-goal scorer could generate such buzz. Now I know. Very cool, Edmonton fans.
Yeah, because nowhere else in the league will you find an incompetent player like Brown who cant score. If Teams had a five lines, he'd be on the fifth one.
He's had a tough go of it offensively this year, but he's a reliable defensive player and knows how to make the right plays. He brings other things to the table that still make him a useful 4th line player
I absolutely love Brown, I mean we bring in a guy to score goals and possibly be Mcdavids right hand guy. Instead we got a penalty killing machine, who has bought in to his role as a minute killer and shutdown line. Sure you heard his name all year about not scoring, but it was always from a place of hope. He has been way more then we could have asked for, just in a way we never knew we would get. He is going to be worth every penny in the playoffs, when we need to fend off a lead that our top stars gave us. There are 2 sides to hockey offence and defense, the oilers have had 1 of those for years. We are finally seeing how important the other side can be, Brown is a huge part of that. I literally leapt outta my chair when he scored, it was so well deserved after how defensively sound he has been all year. Hope he can get a couple more before seasons end, but thank you for sacrificing goals for team needs.
Being there... it was absolutely electric. I loved every moment of that. I have never heard one player get such a reaction from just one (ultimately for the game inconsequential) goal. Incredible stuff
Watch Brown go on a heater after getting that off his back... Edit - and that he doesn't go off on a ridiculous celly... he just "yeah, I do that all the time."
For those who don’t understand, it was a long going joke that Connor Brown can’t score. Finally he does after 54 games!!! Thus causing a standing ovation!
Such a happy moment for Connor Brown! 👍❤️🥅🏒🥋🇨🇦He sure is a digger and fighter making lots of great plays helping teammates score.Oilers Nation!✨👍☕️☕️☕️ EDMONTON 🐅 The Avalanche game this Saturday will rock!
He hadn’t scored for 54 games or something crazy like that but has worked hard, had some bad luck (posts , goals called back, etc etc), and finally got one to go. No matter who you’re a fan of you can appreciate a moment like this. And I’ll tell you . I am NOT a fan of Edmonton lol. But really cool for the guy.
Jack Michaels is a real good commentator he should really be calling all the western NHL games for sportsnet including the playoffs. Him and Louie DeBrusk have real good chemistry.
Solid player no goals or not penalty kill, and Louie was right I can't remember even one play he cost the team a goal. Right on man!! I hope it opens the flood gates for him he is a good guy. I can't wait until he scores a big goal in the playoffs
..even though he said we weren't cuerently and wasnt anythi g to do with hockey (was for the big tornado community during that time)... I will.forgive it. WE ARE THE CITY OF CHAMPIONS!!
As a sens fan, he was one of my favourite players when he played for Ottawa. He could play any situation. I was so sad to see him go when he went to the caps… I didn’t realize he was having a tough year, but I love seeing that smile on his face.
