+tedobs idk man, you're right, they do make a good amount but some youtubers can support their entire lives and then some just from making videos! All they need is a couple sponsors. Rob Scallon for example, if you've never seen his videos check them out, he's insanely talented and he makes youtube music videos as his living.
Haha, totally agree! I am concious of that as I am playing. Having said that, I don't actually do that much slap bass. I've often thought that if i was in moss bro or m&s it would do my head in, good or not. :-/
The amazing thing is only the groove he has man, for sure, "popping and slapping" is amazing, but hard to do with this groove. And don't forget this guy plays in the street so he has to impress the walkers...
i love how he is so gracious when someone gives him change... if i was to attempt to funk out like that in a cold town centre someone could nick all my cash and i wouldn't notice ! lol.
Very true. There are a lot of street musicians in tourist areas who really clean up and make a pretty good living tax free. Just go to Virginia Beach on the boardwalk and you can see them in droves. Musicians and street performers as well. Or as we noticed; musicians and magicians.
@TheMephi1987 Yeah I know what you mean. I would just love to see more stand-out roles from bass players. maybe it is just my horrible headphones but I can almost never hear the bass. Even if it isnt slap bass, i love it when the bass is doing something different but complimentary to the guitar.
Yes, I know. By "poor" I meant not as rich as those "stars". Anyway, though it's a good bass, I hate active pickups: although they can often help you (let's say they allow you to make less effort while playing, and I don't like this either), they'll never be as dynamic, warm and clean as good ol' vintage passive classic pick-ups. Active pretty much sound always the same, and they seldom sound well. Besides, why go for active when there are such "perfect" basses as Fender Jazz and Precision Bass?
I've been noticing the same glitch through RU-vid. I did a test to see if it was happening to every video. Gangnam Style is known for having dislikes and the official video said 8 million likes and 0 dislikes. But then it fixed it self. So RU-vid is either doing some dumb updates again or lacking in programming skillage.
Is that much music in the shopping streets of new castle??? I would like to have a walk there! What amp is he using? Such a pity that all the people just walk on by , instead stop and dance for a while. Just GREAT!!!
they emulated spirit, nature and flow, like all the greats, black, white yellow or green, the best take lessons from the whole scene, they aint colour seein. They aint colour being, there just playing. :)~
The people who say it's untrue are the ones who don't know what context is. If my point didn't make sense to you then it's a lost cause. Especially since this conversation came to a full circle. I don't plan on repeating myself again.
Dude has over $1000 worth of music stuff there, that thing with the wheels behind him looks like a solar generator , that where his power is coming from. And that bass is a mass type bass look at the knobs it has per amp in it. All that stuff is not cheap.
I wish it were that simple. People are famous because other people like what they do, no matter if they can do it well or badly, especially because the others don't know much about it, aren't able to objectively judge. When you like something, it doesn't necessarily mean it is great, you just like it, that's it. E.g. in Italy in the '70 many "artists" almost unable to play and quite untalented were as famous as Deep Purple (who really can play) were in UK and USA, juste because people liked them
You have almost got that: many good musicians are in the street (any kinds of musician; among them there are classical and lyrical players who have been playing and teaching for decades and have lost their job as the theatres have been experiencing a terrible financial crisis, just like all the world) and many talented ones are unknown, while as many terrible and disgracing "musicians" are popular. In the last years, being on MTV too often is synonym of sucking. Nowadays' MTV=Evil
Girl am I pretty? boy NO girl do you want to be with me forever? boy NO (girl) would you cry if I walked away? (boy) NO she heard enough and was hurt, she walked away. Tears ran down her face. The boy grabbed her arm: (boy) you're not pretty... you're beautiful (boy I don't want to be with you forever I need to be with you forever. (boy I wouldn't cry if you walked away I would DIE! Tonight at midnight your true love will realize they love you. Something good will happen to you 1-4 pm
@1996hobby My point was that it is a lot about style and creativity which makes every musician unique. If you like the style more of one musician then an other, it does not make the one better over the other. There is of course the timing and techniques, but every good musician has those skills down. Some find Flea the best bass player others Mark King or Marcus Miller, the fact is they are all awesome doing their 'own' thing. Non can be labeled as ;best'.
@Valdeke I could not put all white bass players there our kid. You get my point, maybe i should have said in no particular order. Flea, sheehan, king, pastorius whatever, all I wzs saying is colour aint all that. And yes, Wooten does urinate upon these other bass players in some sense. Alas he could not replace them tho, he cannot do it all. A natural advantage? I'd say being human and having two arms hands and a bunch o fingers is all you need. :) Peace
It's like Flea from Red Hot Chilli Peppers went undercover as a homeless black guy on the streets jsut to see how people would react. Anyway, this guy is just an amazing talent! Everyone walking by should drop him some change.
clues that he may be Engish 1) English voices talking in the video. 2) English City in the video title. 3) oh never mind. English African?? Get over it dude it's ok. People can call each other what they like......next! :)
This is cool! Kinda making me want a loop pedal and a buskers bass amp! Hey if you get a tick check out my paint animation "Dos Bass Guitars" Keep it funky ladies and gentlemen. Oh and go Bills...Buffalo Bills.
People are too busy to recognize talent or even appreciate it in this moment, or the don't want to give a "homeless" person much attention. Might not even be homeless...way to judge, people!
@scienceisknolwedge... no please elucdate (Rocco Prestia/Jaco Pastorius/Mark King/Pino Paladino/Flea/John Patitucci/Mick Kark/Trevor Bolder/Donald duck Dunne.. need I go on?
