The intro to Jenova is one of the few things I can say with absolute certainty was done perfectly. I guarantee you anyone who knows this song would agree wholeheartedly.
It was good, but not that great. I heard much better transition in FF music here, just find FINAL FANTASY Orchestra Live January.30 [Jagmo] at 11:00. PS. I don't say this one here is bad, but it missing something, and while listen to this in background I noticed transition.
One Winged Angel just isn't the same without a choir, but this is by far the most accurate rendition of Jenova's theme I've ever heard. Really nice work
Jenova, the introduction completely encompasses the horror that was Jenova. Seeping and slowly gaining control, like a parasite. This is a fantastic rendition of both songs, but Jenova is done perfectly.
@@CapsuleClub-gf7ms like a meteor shower raining down with those descending notes at the beginning. It is what I always pictured in my head as a kid when I heard her theme even before I knew what she was. And the percussion gets under your skin like an infection. Perfect theme for such a terrible creature, though, someone said evil. JENOVa isn't evil, cause it is a virus, it has no option but to do what it does. Sephiroth on the other hand has the freewill of a human and chooses to continue to follow through with JENOVA's purpose. He is based on one of the interpretations of the biblical nephilem, one that says they were half angel half human, and had the power of the angels and the freewill of mankind, making them very dangerous beings.
The Jenova ring tone is for when my mother calls. I'm just joking, I'm not being disrespectful but my mother wanted me to use this as a ring tone. She loves FF7 and I still need to get that lady a PS5 soon so hopefully it will be on the market soon. She wants to play the FF7 remake. I have a cool 60 year old mom. ❤☺
lost my mom last year. love of gaming thru her, wasnt her thing..only wish she could know how much joy a thing like ff7 remake would be haha..im her lil spiky head fool claiming the identidy. from no family, to family - out of the ashes of the old. the rebirth, the reuinion. these themes feel more vital than ever. mother earth, lifestream, tech and organic etc..man ty for the comment
It’s my mom’s birthday tomorrow. With everything going on I have purchased a 4K TV Soundsystem PS4 and final fantasy seven remake but I’m actually picking up right now. It’s cool to get these little reminders from my notifications.
Probably the best orchestral version of J-E-N-O-V-A & Sephiroth’s theme I’ve ever heard!! There’s this touch of whimsicality I get when I hear the xylophones, flutes, and especially the trumpets. It just sounds more adventurous than your average orchestral arrangement.
Melissa Fleming very well said I couldn't agree more. What I would have given to see this live. All those instruments bringing it to life and the beyond amazing piano intro I was in awe and like holy f**k and no way and just huge feelings rush in like a cyclone. I've never heard a better live version of Jenova. This tops everything and agree with all that you say. Pure passion there and it truly showed
Okay there are these incredible parts I can't stop playing over and over The saxes and clarinets at 3:18 is an incredible effect, at first I had no idea what it was!! The jenova motif at 5:13 is so unexpected (i think this is what makes this arrangement so unique) I also can't get over how powerful that bell strike was at 6:40 Such an incredible sound, a masterpiece for concert band

Wow! Thanks for the comment! The guy "striking" the bell is actually the arranger of this piece ;)
Yes! The sudden resurgence of the Jenova motif at 5:13 gave me chills! It sounds like it was always supposed to be there, and makes so much sense being there! Best surprise!
OMG that slow build into the JENOVA theme, the teasing descending notes. I always envisioned a meteor shower happening when hearing that, so perfect a sound for the "calamity that fell from the sky" And the hints of Sephiroth even before that. This is a superb version, the only thing missing is a choir, but it isn't even needed when the orchestra is this epic.
I am impressed at how faithful and accurate this sounds to the original piece, minus the lack of a choir. I wonder how Birth of a God would have sounded.
Unbelievable arrangement, absolutely terrific! I was not expecting a woodwind orchestra to produce this range and depth of sounds or recreate the magic of Nobuo Uematsu to such perfect, exacting standards! Bravissimo!
That JENOVA intro is too damn good but the transition from it to One Winged gave me goosebumps like " dude, no saving point? I forgot to stack up on phoenix dooowns "
Both arrangements (but especially JENOVA as other youtubers have said; has been my favourite orchestral version ever. ) Well done for all your hard work!
mrsethcorbin...yes but One Wing Angel sounds so amazing in orchestra 😍. Ravel's Bolero, Jenova and The Extreme are my favorites, but I love all Final Fantasy.
even after the release of the character of Sephiroth in Super smash bros Ultimate, One winged angel is recommended from that song that's a great hit but also Jenova was really in the Orchestra not gonna lie
I love how this starts off really kind of serene...then it turns surreal...then outright alien. Once you hit J-E-N-O-V-A you're just like "I NEED A WEAPON YESTERDAY"
Oh geez...I remember seeing Distant Worlds (Grand Rapids, MI) concert and it was the first one where Uematsu was in the audience and he went down and started singing with choir during One-Winged Angel. And let me tell you, he was getting into it. One of the best days of my life and I got to see it with my best friend.
I can't express my real joy at listening to this....wow....thank you.....the best videogame from my childhood just came alive , the memories this music triggers xxx
If you had never heard this song or played the game. Imagine going into a life and death battle against the most fiersome opponent you could imagine, but you are determined to win. Keep that in your mind while listening to this piece and then you will understand its full effect.
@Diego Vgames So, novels aren't fun because they are literature. Comics are literature too, everything we can read can be literature/art no matters what (Sorry about my crappy english). Also, art is subjective.
One winged angel and Aeriths theme were some of the reason the general public started realizing video games are art. they caused controversy because they made it into some very popular radio program for orchestral music's hall of fame
The start to 1.10 is like the pre battle prep.. Right Materia set up-check Right Weapon and Accessory set up-check Items arranged so you can find them and not get roasted while trying to cure silence-check ....Jenova appears.. Love this
This arrangement is absolutely breathtaking. the conductor and the orchestra work flawlessly together and play with the vigor of the great tortured pain and madness that the two themes imply, i am moved to tears.
Had this on my playlist for years, listened to it hundreds of times. Finally watching the video for the first time ever made me realise there are no live singers, the orchestra is so good I never realised there Is nobody singing the "sephiroth" part. Blows my mind.
I love it. The goosebumps it gives. The vibes of pure terror and evil. Shows how much of a masterpiece this actualy is. Obviously the original game does NOT give it justice since the audio is a bit meh in 1997. But todays orchestra makes it shine so much more
Over the years I've listened to so many FFVII orchestra sets and my god this J-E-N-O-V-A tops the lot. Absolutely amazing. This is what the music was trying to be in the original game. Perfection.
This performance is magical, what I wouldn't give to be here... quite possibly my favorite orchestral performance ever, and I've been to quite a few as well!
Honestly hearing the beginning of Jenova with the amazing piano intro brought tears to my eyes. I mean this whole orchestra is beyond words. It truly is a masterpiece beyond belief and to say it's 100xs better then the games actual music, is an understatement !!!! Tyvm for sharing something so unique. Love this vid so much I play it often when I need cheering up. 🤘🤘
7 and a half minutes of pure joy and I still can’t get my eyes to stop crying!! No matter how hard I try, JENOVA when I starts to kick in and speed up just fills my heart with the most incredible joy!! I know it’s being selfish but I know a lot of people will never understand that kind of beautiful music. I’d love it to be shared but I’m happy to keep it a secret ☺️
The emotions that run through me are insane when hearing this... I'm so overwhelmed that i am crying and shaking... Thank you for this purely exhilarating feeling. OMG.
As epic as this will always be, I think they have finally created a rival in spine tingling teary eyed masterpieces. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake main theme song is beyond beautiful!
