You should watch One Piece for your own benefit. I'm sure many of us would like to see your reaction to the hype moments thru the franchise... but frankly, just watch/read it to enjoy it.
Hi fellow! I loved your reaction watching the live action. So let me tell you just this: One Piece animation is much more "goofy" and "wacky" than live action. It uses the graphic to compose the jokes like long faces of surprise, pointed tooth when someone get angry, and stuff like that. so my advice is: watch three chapters per day (1 hour in total) until you cover this live action season (ended at episode 45). So you will take two weeks. Then ou can make the reaction to this point taking 3 episodes by video if ou want. Ah and one thing... I don't recommend you jump any filler, because you see... Even out of manga its an important part of the show and link "just anime" events. I say this cause a lot of manga lovers recommend the anime "by the book" version that some channels disponibilize. Go one by one enjoying or hating whatever appears. You will enjoy it! Usually the one who not enjoys are people convinced to watch but not used to anime in general sort of way. But if you already watch some anime, One Piece will hook you easily like happened to me. I was used to Saint seiya, Dragon Ball, Naruto and Bleach, when I started to watch OP in 2006.
Hey Mikey! I'm glad you're really feeling the scale that you haven't seen yet. Season 2 will start us in the Grand Line, but in the anime you officially get there in the 50s or so after LogueTown. That was the next stop for the live action straw hats.
The Breathtaking World of One Piece only scratches the surface of the show's fantastic worldbuilding. They really dive into the cultures of each island the Strawhats visit-fleshing out their characters, environments, and more. One Piece is a must-watch.
Honestly, it doesn't really do a good job at showing the culture. Sure, you have a few generic buildings that might be fitting but other than wano and sky island, every island seems to be pretty much the same in how they act and live their lives, I wish we would have seen more of how different people are.
The show is very different in the fact that you’re always actively following 2-3 different plot threads in the world of one piece. One of them consisting of whatever obstacles the straw hats are facing at the moment but the other plots are other events unraveling in the world as well like big name pirate groups challenging each other and the world government all consisting of completely fleshed out crews with backstories we haven’t even seen yet 1000 episodes in, one piece is a mystery shonen
"People's dreams will never die!" The world is breathtaking and wonderful, and the story is incredible. Once you get in, you will not escape. It's a wonderful journey.
This is what Thousand Chapters/Thousand of Episodes could do. The World building in One Piece is massive and I rarely hearing people talk how great this world is. So inspiring to every aspiring writer like me. This is years of Adventure to me.
I am a advocate of reading the Manga. It is the original work, 10-20 chapters can be read well per day. Anime's style is not for everyone, but in manga/comics the world is the best experience, especially since Oda shares a lot about the world in interstitial images. All chapters are easy to find on the Internet, and it's even easy to read on your phone. Mangas are an art form of their own that you should try out. And between the chapters Oda always builds interesting interimformations (in the form of fan questions or side stories of old characters and building the world).
This is the reason why japan itself honored eiichiro oda the creator of onepiece as japan's new generation's geniuses, because of this ONE master PIECE. 🔥
The strength of this series is that while the world is insanely large, all the places are actual places with their own people, rules, and customs. Every location feels like a livable place.
What did I say? By the end of this series it’s gonna be titled “okay I’m gonna react to the show”. And while not 100% confirmed, I still feel like I called it.
The funny thing about this video, is that as amazing as the visuals are..... they are only the visuals! Imagine the massive story hidden behind those visuals(and trust me theres multiple stories behind every picture in that video).
Wwowowow!! I love that we have a new fan to our fandom!!!! And you’re SO GOOD with your insights. I very much enjoyed watching your eight episodes of the live action. You’re brilliant.
Would love your OP reactions! Just remember that the show is old and the early episodes are different and the art style, the pacing etc it all evolves and it takes time :) Though I think the first episodes will be interesting as they cover the plot of the life action. Anime OP moves at a different pace, fights take time, but! emotional punches hit harder and deeper because everything is built up with a lot of care. the world, the characters and the heart of their stories are what makes it so special, if you ask me. it's so worth it to give it a go, even if you don't put your reactions up on youtube.
Needless to say, I am all for a full One Piece reaction. And you're in luck, since Netflix has started uploading the actual anime en masse, presumably because they expected a huge influx of new fans. I understand that the sheer size and scale of the show can be overwhelming, but a really nice thing about One Piece is that despite its length, it has very clearly-defined story arcs that oftentimes boil down to the crew reaching and then leaving a new island, which makes it relatively easy to put down and pick up again at those points if you ever get a little burnt out. And again, Netflix seems to be aware of that because it even divided up the show by its arcs. Looking forward to seeing what comes of this. :)
@@charlesredd9619 Yeah, that was a... questionable decision. My guess is they wanted to make a big buffer for new fans while also uploading current episodes to appeal to both crowds. Hopefully they'll bridge that gap over time. It was almost caught up to where I actually left off too. I just feel bad for any new fan who accidentally skips those 500 episodes without noticing right away.
Another video made also by Strawhat V called "Unleashed" shows different side of One Piece, it also spoiler free, at least you won't be able to connect dots and remember everything that was showned there, and it doesn't shows anything major anyway. But it shows that this world is more serious and less happy than it was shown in "Breathing World".
I was scared to start this behemoth of a story, but now halfway through I’ll say this. Consume at your own pace. The payoff is worth it and there is no wrong way to experience this story. Even if you only reviewed arcs it’s always great to see someone new join the fan base of this great show.
consume at your own pace is so important if you go into with the idea you'll speed run it you're gonna burn out so quick, the story is amazing but the pacing can be god awful, take breaks, consume other content and come back as time allows
what's mindblowing is that this is just a showcase of the world. you still haven't seen the actual worldbuilding, the lore of world and down to the smallest details of every character, relevant or not to the bigger picture of the story.
I've watched a bunch of reactions to the live action series now, and there's always this moment of reckoning after where the creators have to decide "... do I just dive in?" It's so fun and funny. I agree with your assessment of the worldbuilding, it's so immense and really comparable to the greats, like Lord of the Rings.
The world building in One Piece is hands down the best I have ever experienced in any piece of media. I put off watching for years bc of the number of episodes and now I wish there were hundreds more. When you decide to start just enjoy the ride and take your time, it's well worth it.
Lmao ever since One Piece released on Netflix I watched a bunch of new reaction videos to this and it's so funny how all start with I wonder if I should watch it and after watching everyone's debating about not having time, but wanting to watch it. This honestly is the best One Piece video out there IMO to show you what the world is about without showing you what it's actually about. dude should get an honorary mention in the anime/manga for this video. Also loved the fact you picked up on those quick scenes which you already seen in the Netflix show.
As someone who has been a fan of one piece since 2002 and has taken into consideration what it would take to catch up on one piece here are your two options: 1. Watch all the episodes or read the manga(whichever you prefer). Upside: you will know all the lore and details behind one piece which is very rewarding. Downside: Some arcs will make you slow down on watching one piece, almost to a point where you don't want to watch it anymore. 2. Find a speedrun episode guide and just watch those episode. Upside: you will catch up to one piece very quickly. Downside: you will miss out on so much lore.
Yesss it would be super fun to see you react! I would even suggest starting at episode 45 if you don't feel like rewatching all the first arcs! It may be a shocking thing to say for other fans like me, but I think you'll enjoy it! I also recommend to watch the One Pace version, where the pace is edited to fit the intention of the manga better and cut off parts that are unnecessary lol Hope you give it a try!
i wouldn't reccomend that, there's a lot of stuff that is different or that the LA cut out that he would miss out on. He should at least watch it off-camera.
@@heckreacts Both perspectives would be fine, but I would rather have someone watch the anime from episode 45 and miss some secondary elements than having someone drop it at episode 15 because the pacing is bad and the story is repetitive
@@annegiii3446 the pacing and storytelling dont miraculously get better at episode 45 lol, in fact, other than loguetown, the arcs after the LA all the way to whiskey peak are really slow.
I would love for you to continue the one piece journey with us and in my opinion it’ll only enhance the live action experience because then you’ll see subtle things that show just how much love and care went into season 1 and probably following seasons as well
I'll be glad to see your journey and reactions in the world of onepiece, and I bet you'll will never regret it... Enjoy it when you can, avoid spoiler at all costs (some I think are inevitable) because nothing is better than a genuine reaction of a new member of the club.
all the places in the world of One Piece are inspire from the real world. characters are inspire from real people, social issues, politics, history, and all One Piece is inspire by our world! I remember going to Venice in Italia and i couldnt stop thinking about One piece, it was so much alike.(Water 7 for the fans)
Finally someone that watches this and ACTUALLY starts on the anime. I see so many reactors watch this, watch the opening, spoil themselves and proceed to never watch the anime.
Funny thing.. before watching One Piece people say that its length its the biggest barrier, but after they start watching One Piece most of them say its too short
by the way there is a version of One Piece called One Pace that edits the show so it is a little more streamlined and in line with the manga, it cuts the filler and padding and adjusts certain scenes in order.
The length of One Piece is its biggest hurdle for new people but once you have begun the journey you will come to understand that its actually too short.
I’m happy you caught that a lot of people miss or breeze over that 170 different allied governments I mean that alone is a crazy feat for a writer on scales of how big this world is
Hell yeah! One Piece has one of - if not the most - detailed world of fiction, with a plot full of historical, mythological and sociological references, discussing various deep topics and themes, while telling a very well-knit narrative, always bringing again information and characters from hundreds of chapters before. And all this while maintaining its essence: a fun and funny adventure about a rubber boy who dreams of become King of the Pirates!
Yeah, this world is beautiful alright. Just beware, if you watch the anime, you'll be watching if for a while because there's well over 1,000 episodes right now. Good luck.
CORRECTION: THIS VIDEO ONLY SHOWS LIKE 10% OF THE WORLD OF ONE PIECE. There's probably tons of other islands that is not covered by the series since it will take litteraly forever to cover the whole world. The only places shown here is mostly form the East Blue and the Grandline (some are a handful from the other blues) but there's still tons and tons of islands out there to explore.
The interweaving stories of all the characters in the world of One Piece will blow your mind. Past stories and present timelines connect really well with Oda's storytelling.
As a caught up One Piece fan, when I saw the breathtaking world of One Piece, I was like “was this really in the show? I don’t remember it looking like this.” I did recognize a lot of movie scenes that aren’t in the anime. I was worried though that this video gives the wrong impression even though all the scenes are from One Piece media lol
I started watching the series when I was 8, in 2003. The fact that it's still going on 20 years later and how far it has come - now with the live action making it even more popular to non-anime viewers - is an amazingly satisfying feeling. This live action and its widespread success was Oda's dream come true, since he's a huge fan of movies and stories in general. What could be more of an honor to his life work than this, even after his already received guinness world record? I think I share the sentiment with many longtime fans that it is always a great feeling to see someone new get into it. The fandom generally loves to share the love with all newcomers. And it makes me very jealous that you'll be able to binge watch and/or read almost the full series. 😊 Just enjoy the journey, and after a while you will not think of the amount of episodes as a "bad" thing anymore, but an exciting thing to have so much to look forward to~
This is one of those great videos that spoils everything *only* for the people who already know the spoilers. Leading to the feeling of "wait, they didn't just show that in full view?!". It also says a lot that even this is basically just a superficial glimpse of the world; those places all have stories behind them, even beyond the scope of the already impressive main plot. One of the strongest points of One Piece is that this feels like a grand world the story is passing through, rather than a stage for it to happen on. And that in turn adds to the epic scale of the whole thing.
First time reactions to One Piece are one of the most watched types of RU-vid videos that One Piece fans love to watch. We all love living vicariously through fresh eyes, bc you will only ever watch it for the first time once and we all want to recapture that feeling of awe and excitement
when you want to see the series there is an version without any filler, without flashbacks or censored stuff its called O N E P A C E with this you can watch over 200 Episodes in "just" 44 hours and not 80 hours. (fillers are episodes that are not in the manga so they are just made up to sell more episodes, in the early seasons there where many of them)
I've been a long time fan of the Anime; I've been following it from the start. (I briefly fell off for a few years 400 episodes in because back then I was watching it on TV and it was taken out of the programm for a while and official subs weren't a thing yet, but I never stopped loving it and came back a few years later.) So as someone who has followed this story and loved the characters for about two decades now, I can say with confidence that it's well worth the time it takes to experience this work. It's one of the few stories that have run that long where it really feels as though that lengh and more is needed, rather than artificially provided. The beginning of the series is very fast paced, later on things slow down more, but in a good way. I've been enjoying your One Piece themed videos that keep showing up in my reccomendations, so I would absolutely be happy to be one of the viewers to follow your journey. Though I have to be honest: I wouldn't be among those who watch the day each video is released, most likely, but rather take a weekend each month and watch what episodes are there in bulk. Which isn't optimal for RU-vid algorythm, but you wished for our honest oppinions so that is mine. :) Regardless, like anyone else in the comment section I'm sure, I'll happily encourage you to watch it; with or without your audience, whichever works out best for you personally. I myself would reccomend the official English Subs over the English Dub, but that could be because I'm biased towards both the Japanese and German voice cast and was simply never sold on the English team who are doing their best too. The one thing I would *implore* you to do however, if you watch it, is to not let others ditcate your viewing experience. By which I mean A) don't follow lists on which fillers to skip, for you might miss out on a lot of classic and beloved moments and most fillers are Anime Canon and will be reffrenced back as such - and B) please, PLEASE do yourself the favor to watch the actual Anime, not the widely known fan edit known as One Pace that sets out to emulate to be closer in line to the Manga pannels. As someone who enjoys animation and the way various directors handle the adaption from Manga into Anime and someone who lives for the additional breething room and emotional impact created by sound design and editing and music and everything else that an Anime brings to the table... it legitimately hurts me to watch that particular edit. It has it's place, for a quicker re-watch to remind you of what happened if you've allready seen the Anime many times over but it is not a substitude for the original by any means.
After watching the Live Action of One Piece, it's good to see this video to have a tast of what you gonna see in the next seasons without been spoils. A super tribute's video of OP.
speaking from personal experience, 1000+ eps SOUNDS like a lot, but now that i'm all caught up, i wanna go back and watch it again, including the Remasters and the Movies.
"People's dreams...Never end!" That end quote never fails to send shivers down my spine, especially knowing the context of the line and who says it. As others have mentioned, One Piece is a massive marathon, but it's a journey worth taking. It's one of the greatest series and stories ever told.
Since it’s a hefty series, maybe watch the anime, then post a review and your thoughts on each arc. That may make it less daunting to edit that many videos.
The video you showed is really breathtaking, very well done for the editor. For me is always joyful to see someone react to the anime after they watch the live action. I m really glad that if you decide to do it. It is a long story, and the live action mainly covers up to episode 44 and some other details around hundreds of episodes. The second season what I think it will cover from episode 60ish to 130ish and it might be a year later for coming out. You might be just starting reacting to the episodes which were covered by the live action and see the difference between them so you can have a blind view for the second season or just simply get going. Do it in you own pace.
The world building is not just for the shows and visuals either it is deeply integrated to the story we're connected to all the islands strawhats end up visiting
If there is one thing that i can say for sure about Oda without hyping him up or highly praising him, it is that i think he is always enjoying the world of One Piece more than anyone else, and i think that explains a lot of his creativity.
It's always kinda funny for me, as I always hear people talk about how daunting the length of One Piece is, and how it's too long. And yet as I read the newest chapters each week, and the reality of One Piece finally, slowly, creeping towards it's conclusion is making itself known, I'm sitting here wishing we could have even longer with the story and crew. The length seems inconsequential if the journey has been so enjoyable.
The most awesome thing, for me, is that Oda makes a very detailed world not only for the main crew (Strawhats). But even side characters with the most minor roles have detailed background, with compelling motivation, and custom town/islands they inhabit (like those that pay food tribute for Big Mom). Fans like me can't recommend it enough, but yeah if you're interested you should dive into it at your own pace 👍
As someone who has been watching One Piece since nearly the beginning (I missed the initial start all the way back in the day, when it first aired on German TV and jumped on at episode 19 - and have been with the show all the years since) I just want to say this: One Piece is a journey of a kind that is unique in a way that makes each and every step worth it. From a writers perspective, the most impressive thingt to me is how nothing needed to be retconned at any point and there is only one noticable plot hole - which could easily enough be explained away by a character in question simply having forgotten a small detail. Whether or not you want to try and invest the time to react to it on your channel is your decision alone, so I won't say anything regarding that aside from the fact that I would happily join you for the journey but what I will say is that it's well worth the experience of watching it even if you don't share ith with your community and do it as something just for yourself. Whatever you end up deciding, I hope you have a wonderful day when this message finds you. ♥
I will tell you the same thing I tell everyone. Don’t watch one piece, read one piece, and then look for your favorite scenes and fights in the animated show. Reading 1000 chapters of manga is something that takes significantly less than 400 hrs. On top of that the manga is just better paced and the artwork is worlds better than what Toei can do with their weekly release schedule.
You can watch the anime up to episode 44 witch concludes the 8 episodes of the live action to see the changes they did and lots of cut materials from the anime, after that you can simply wait for season 2 of the live action.
I just recently caught up in one piece after 2 months of binge watching, and I must say, it is DEFINATELY worth it. INCREDIBLE storytelling and world building/character development, it has it all and more! Now I'm working on catching up on the manga!
I won't push you to react to the whole anime because it would probably a lot of work, but I definitely recommend at least watching it ! I haven't watched the live action yet (I will !) but I'm glad it brought a whole new crowd to One piece. As for most things, One piece isn't perfect but the qualities largely outnumber the flaws. I grew up with it and it's still one of my main comfort story. I'm also glad new people found your channel thanks to the live action, I was already subscribed for other shows (I especially like your Infinity train reactions) and haven't watched your One piece reactions yet, but I will once I watch the live action myself (or if you do react on the anime on RU-vid I'll watch them too)
""This world comes from one person's head"" .. imagine .. the world building , each island has its own uniqueness and its not just a static island ..all of them are dynamic and fully believable .. on top of that.. it has 900+ NAMED Characters and most of them has their own believable stories and motives .... This is why for me , One Piece is MAGIC ..its one of the world's wonders .. its just crazy to think about it
I have watched tons of anime, Hollywood movies, TV Shows, K dramas. But one piece is the first to made me cry. the emotional roller coaster in the show are breath taking. my friend rejected when I told them to watch the show becos at that time its already 600-800 episodes. He caught up in 3 months and became even more obsessed than I did lol
I know One Piece is a hard show to react to but I would watch the heck out of it if you did it is a work of art. It certainly has its slower moments but damn is it worth it
Live Action + The Breathtaking World of ONE PIECE es un combo difícil de superar, espero que reacciones al anime, la comunidad de One Piece es la más grande y agradecida, y tú eres bueno reaccionando.
