Watching anime for a while is kind of amazing in that aspect, the other night I couldn't sleep, so I decided to count how many words in japanese I knew. I fell asleep after reaching 200 and was like DAMN HOW MUCH ANIME I AM WATCHING?
I could probably understand the majority of what she's saying here. Though via piecing certain words and phrasings together. There are many words I am not sure about, but overall, I can understand what she's saying without reading the subs. I have never really studied Japanese, it is 99.5% just from watching anime for the past 15 years. Though by listening to day to day conversations in Japanese via Hololive the past 2 years has made things even clearer.
You can really hear how much Okayu talks in a praising voice towards Korone its not too often you hear Okayu get flustered talking about something or someone (except for when talking about Korone lol) the high regards the two have for each other really is just wholesome Even if we may not see as many OkaKoro collabs on stream, they have said many times that they hang out and talk, as shown here Okayu shows their bond is still as strong as ever てえてえ
Okayu: _"Korone is like a hero, or something..."_ Townie: "Thanks for the help, Korone, you REALLY saved us!" Korone: *_"Yubis, please."_* Townie: "Eh?"
Korone now sounds like one of those old fashioned American greasers who are all suave and cool back in the day and even after a few decades retain that swagger but still know how to be tough AND are unexpectedtedly cute when they're relaxed.
I noticed that Korone became much opener with her "real" self after her long break at the end of last year. She doesn't hold back her incredible laugh at all anymore, is more goofy than ever and talks more with other Holomems than out of her comfort zone members from OKFAMS. So jeah I can see that Okayu notices this too as her closest friend.

The stark difference from this, to the Korone almost 4 years ago who couldn't open up to any of the other girls. Seeing everyone develop really warms me up, I've begun to look at the girls more like my daughters, and I'm still in College lmao.
I still remember when Koro-san called Okayu her hero and really handsome when she was there for her during hard times. I find it touching that both of them see the cute and cool sides of each other and feel deeply connected like that. Okayun has been swooning for Koro-san since forever and always held her comedic talent in highest regards, but it is kind of cute to see her get flustered more lately~
Awww Korone is the one protecting Okayu like a knight all along, so cuteee I can imagine Korone screaming happily when she knows about this xD Korone : *"Look at me Okayu, I'm the harem protagonist now"*
Interesting how she said "it's okay, Okayu. I'll protect you" and Yuno's infamous line from Mirai Nikki says "Don't worry, Yukki. I will protect you." And not to mention Korone said herself "if someone hurts Okayu, that's something that I can't forgive" 😳😳
Many focus on Korone's cuteness, but what stuck with me was her depth, unique sense of humor and that "spirit of a hero" Okayu mentioned. In Cat-Three Translations' videos, Korone said that her young notion that helpful people were just trying to look cool was an excuse to do nothing, and she hated thinking that and regretted being unable to help an ailing man on the metro. In later videos, she talked about, despite her natural shyness, pushing herself to have the courage to reach out to others, and even to help a foreigner in public when she was out with A-chan. I guess Okayu's starting to see what Risu always saw. We've seen in interactions with Risu (like her birthday present, for instance) how warm a senpai Korone can be. Normally, I'm pretty perverted, but the thing I actually find myself wanting to do the most with Korone is give her a big ol' hug.
0:43 I feel like hololive is embracing the Nya much more these days and my headcannon puts the "blame" on Gura. Lol knowing that Okayu watches Gura I like to think that she puts 'haNya' and ohNyo' into her speech when things are truly tickling. Korone tickles Okayu big time.
So it’s like they’re flipping roles but Korone isn’t losing cuteness in the process while Okayu feels more flustered and thus less cool. I see, I see, I see.
That 'spirit of the hero' analogy really reminds me of shonen protagonists who start off being super goofy and wacky but then have that moment where they become calm and collected and the suave levels just pour right off of them and you realize 'oh yeah.. that's why they're the hero.'
Ngl, even though I am against real life shipping and sure they are really good friends, i cant stop my brain from thinking "if they actually come out as a couple, i would be really proud". Anyway, if they are a couple or not, shouldn't matter, they simply deserve happiness.
