No wonder she can laugh anything off and not have many complaints about her fans. She was already hardened from losers without anything better to do than micro-manage someone's blog activity.

@hhdhpublic
@hhdhpublic 2 дня назад
no, not really. Pretty much everyone who writes has distinct mannerisms and such in their text even if they don't notice it themselves which give it away especially for those who have read their stuff or posts for a while.

@@hhdhpublic ik it's noticable for novels and actual literature. I never thought that would also apply to personal blogs too.
@thrumbo

its noticable. but the one who find it probably doesn't have a life, since they go as far as spread it to other platform, when the one that make mistake is new, doesn't know it and try it best to fix it

Man, Japanese internet is not for amateurs. You always hear about ruthlessness like that going around over there.
@melejitt
@melejitt 2 дня назад
that's why japanese streamers in general have thick skins, they survived the hellish days of NND era, take pekora for example.
@VVayVVard
@VVayVVard 2 дня назад
This era was kind of similar on the English-speaking side though, especially in 4ch and on various forums, like with the "consequences will never be the same" guy and his daughter. Cancel culture probably evolved faster in Japan since it had a higher density of permanent netizens than any other country at the time. Japan can be less forgiving toward cultural faux pas than the US in some contexts, but the vice versa can also be true, e.g. when it comes to sexualized depictions of children, or race-related things. All things considered, I don't think it's all that different.

They grew up with the internet earlier than we do. While we only have stable mobile internet connection with 3G, around 2005 and beyond, they were cruising with the first commercial 3G in 1998. Their flip phones were capable of web browsing and shit posting in the 2000s. That’s how 4chan spawned from 2ch. Since they are accustomed to “always online” way earlier, their internet culture is more “evolved”. That’s how they came up with Ghost in the Shell in the 80s and Lain in 1998, despite having broadband internet later than the US.

Uhmm, are you a toddler? Have you been on the internet in the past? We used to be able to actually have freedom of speech back in the day. Whenever it was the truth, conspiracy theories, racial slurs etc. This was very common in the west as well.

but internet in its early day is crazy. since theres no filter, almost no rule and no separation between clear, grey and dark, all kind of people hanging out in the same place and do whatever they want. but its fun tho, since you can discuss basically anything.

The internet is such a soul crushing place, it’s sad how often children spend their time sitting down indoors staring at a little rectangle, hours and hours daily, instead of playing outside, meeting new friends, having fun, getting exercise. Internet has been a positive for “the economy” but what the hell is that worth when so many innocent individual lives are negatively affected by it. It must be even worse in Japan in such a strict etiquette driven society with a high population density and millions of city dwellers. Sigh such a fked up world we live in. We have so many “creature comforts” but are people really happy? Doesn’t seem like it

Ye olde internet is definitely harsh, but it crafted this "you need to have thick skin to survive" mentality that just isn't present in today's coddled era. Back then you'd think twice about posting anything for the myriad of fallout that could happen from it. Now people don't think about any consequences and just sperg out when met with the littlest of criticisms
@nietzchan
@nietzchan День назад
Nah, back then we could post anything because internet is still a self-contained ecosystem, social media is what ruined internet, it took things that should stays on the internet to the real world, involving people in real life. Social media is what weaponized cancel culture by being a bridge between online persona and the real world, it allows people to target their harassment to the person behind the username.
