Okayu reacting "Lord of the Night" Majima's introduction in Yakuza 0 

Personally, I prefer when people go from Kiwami to 0. Mostly because 1) they easily become attached to 0 Majima, who is NOT in the great majority of the series, because It Is the first exposure to Majima, and becomes imprinted, creating a lot of dissonance. There were a lot of people who disliked Kiwami Majima because he was so different compared to his zero self 2) I personally don't think it "spoils" his story or ruins the experience, It just makes you wonder "how did he become like in Kiwami" rather than "I wonder what happens next". I think this is way more acceptable rather than risking alienating his entire character. I've seen people play Kiwami 2 and STILL cry about the ponytail and his zero self every time he was on screen.

@@starbound100 I agree, it's what happening with Bae, like on yesterday's Okayu stream of 0, Bae came to watch and seems like she's still salty that Majima changed his image

@@starbound100 Yeah, but at the same time, a lot of your emotional attachment to Nishiki disappears if you play Kiwami first.

@@starbound100 But isn't Kiwami set before 0? No, wait. 0 comes first then comes Kiwami (which is a hi-res remake of the OG Yakuza).

A reason why any aspiring writer should remember to always name their prequels with numbers keeping on going from their last part instead of jumping back. People don't have the forsight that there is a different effect to learning a persons past when you know their future. By using a lower number you are inviting your consumers to spoil themselves.

I honestly think that 0 is worth playing first so the Nishiki stuff hits harder.

​@aerthreepwood8021 There's always a tradeoff. It's either you make Nishiki have more development as a character, or you let yourself be surprised by all that's different. That goes for everyone, too. They did a great job at making 0 a starting point and a place you can return to after. The big thing I will say is 0's story is leagues better than kiwami/1's, so it can give an inaccurate view of the quality going in.

For every person who plays 0 after Kiwami and got surprised there are ten who didn’t even bother to play 0 afterwards because Kiwami was shit

In all fairness, the businessman is absolutely tanked. Means he's even easier to outmaneuver then he already is. :p

Those are the in-game subtitles. If they were more accurate Majima would be subtitled as saying "The customer is God".
