Planning a skiing trip and your unsure what mountain you should go to? No problem! My goal is to help you decide what mountain you should visit, based on my experiences at ski areas located across North America! To help you decide, I'll rank Okemo Mountain Resort on a scale from 1 to 10 on five different criteria, and then I'll give it an overall ski area based on what I think of the ski area overall! If there is a ski area you'd like me to review in the future, comment it down below!
Okemo Mountain Resort is a ski area located in Ludlow, Vermont. The ski area is located in the Southern-Central portion of the state, south of Killington and north of Stratton/Bromley/Magic. Okemo first opened for lift-serviced skiing in 1956. Starting in 1982, the ski area was owned by Triple Peaks, a company run by the Mueller Family, which also owned Mount Sunapee in New Hampshire and Crested Butte in Colorado. During the summer of 2018, the Muellers sold Okemo, along with their other properties, to Vail Resorts. As a result, Okemo is currently a destination on the Epic Pass. Okemo is one of the more popular ski areas in Vermont, as it is located in the southern portion of the state, making it closer to population centers. Okemo is known for its family-oriented culture. The mountain places a large emphasis on its wide variety of learning opportunities. The mountain has plenty of terrain for all skill levels, especially intermediate skiers and riders. The ski area is comprised of four main areas: the Main Face; the South Face, which has more advanced trails compared to the other areas and is a great way to avoid crowds; the Solitude area, which is home to a lot of fun cruisers, and a wide variety of condos; and Jackson Gore, the newest area of Okemo and is also home to the ski area's large hotel and a mountain coaster.

I think that Okemo has some fairly steep runs on the Jackson Gore side (though it has been a while since I have skied there). Though it is true that an Okemo diamond is not quite like a Cannon diamond. What I do not like is that I'd have to pull out the plastic and that they won't accept my dollars at Vail acquired ski resorts. But the same is true at Belleayre (and now Gunstock). Smh. I think that at Jiminy and Berkshire East, they have to accept cash, BUT the Massachusetts ski areas are smaller.
