Fallout and The Last of Us are undoubtedly the best game adaptation shows made so far, but this imo has barely squeaked past TLoU to take the top spot. Both shows have been faithful to their source materials' vision. Unlike TLoU (which is based on an already-established story), Fallout's story is new, and continues the world's lore past Fallout 4 -- and maybe F76 (which I've never played, so I wouldn't know).
AFAIK this is actually directly in continuation with the canon of the games. So this is 9 years after Fallout 4. This is also why some elements like the stimpak (and others I won't spoil) are kind of "game magic" because we're kind of literally in the game world, but live action.
As a massive fan of this game, they did such an amazing job at balancing fun insights and Easter eggs for long time fans, plenty of really effective storytelling for new fans, and an excellent new story for us all to enjoy together. I couldn't be happier with how this was done.
I knew nothing about it before I started watching, I finished it, and I loved it. Great acting, great story, great effects, great sets, etc. It is all great. Enjoy.
I'd played exactly one hour of fallout in the past, but I went in knowing the vibe and tone of the universe. I really like that you don't need to know a ton about the games to enjoy the show. It doesn't hold your hand and yet you can pick up everything they're putting down fairly easily.
The world of Fallout can probably best be described as a post-apocalyptic world with a retro futuristic aesthetic. Hope you enjoy Fallout 4 John. I know I spent over 100 hours playing it!
I love the Series. Everey Detail. They printed all the the special things from the game with a 3d printer. Bethesada gave the production team the specification. But, as a Fan i knowing what happen. I see how the "other dwellers" eating and looking. I Know what will be happen. But its ok. So the Series its not that Kaboom for me. But its looks nice and the first videogame adaption that not embaressing.
There are 120+ Vaults and less than 20 have been explored in the games. The show is telling a story of three vaults that haven't been explored yet. I've played close to 6,500 hours of Fallout 4 and I can tell you there is much more than just vaults and what's on the surface. In Fallout 4 there are aliens and a mine with a supernatural event. Even though those two were a small part of the game, the Amazon series has a huge variety of Fallout content it can explore. My opinion, I think the series is brilliant.
It's a new story but it takes place in roughly the same area as the first game the second game and New Vegas game The third and fourth games are on the East Coast
16:45 It is not a specific game, right, but it is tightly based in the world. It's fully canon and Todd Howard approached this as a new entry to the series, like a new game in a way
