When someone is learning coin magic, this is exactly what they’re dreaming of doing some day. I know exactly how he’s doing it and I’m burning his hands, but I can’t catch even a glimpse of it. Perfect technique, which must have cost years of training. Very impressive.
I’ve watched this so many times. It’s beautifully done. There’s one point where I give up trying to work it out because I’m sort of happy not knowing. (Although I will learn it someday lol )
I'm glad you enjoyed the performance and thanks for your feedback. Roth's routine is indeed a beautiful one. I'm positive you'll love learning, mastering, and performing it. 😉
Just amazing! I love your work. I appreciate your creativity in working out moves that don't require a slot. However, in working hard to make things as clean and as fair as possible in my own work, I'm not sure that the "coziness" of your steals (spectator: "why do your fingers come together?" Magician's answer: "None of your business!") outweigh the extra cost of going with a gimmicked box...with it's cleaner coin dumps. I have been accused of "thinking like a magician" and so I'm always interested in the choices that magicians make, and the reasons behind those choices.
Thanks for your feedback! I believe it's a personal choice. On the one hand, the slot's strongest point is the clean coin dumps but, on the other, it's weakest is the retrieveal of the held coin. In my case, I feel more comfortable going for the steals. But as with any magic effect, one of the key points is detecting the weak points and working to make them go unnoticed.
Thanks for your kind words! Happy to know you are working on this routine, although using dollars sounds quite challenging for certain techniques. Good luck!
The box was made by Jim Zee, who manufactured and sold his boxes back in the day. I believe Daytonamagic is still making them. Please, bear in mind that boxes from diferent manufacturers have different features, so check them (based on the sleight-of-hand techniques you are using) before you decide on a particular okito box.
arthurits yes I have a set of 4 different bottoms which do different effects you choose the one for what you want to do or switch them out during preference .
