I just got one of these grills and I LOVE it! It actually works REALLY well for smoking ham, turkey, or brisket. Burgers are super easy and clean up is quick. Pulling out the trays and hosing them down saves a LOT of hassle. Can’t wait to take it camping or tailgating.
I do have to add charcoal more frequently more than my 250 gallon BBQ Pit but the amount of charcoal I'm adding is considerably less, I used to buy the really big bags of charcoal and go through them really fast or lots of chopped wood, but the other day I got a small bag and I have cooked out three times on it and still have some left over, and I even cooked a large ham last weekend and it did beautifully, so I would say it is probably better for the environment and much more economical, and in these times that's a great thing, and as far as temperature it remains steady and gets just as smokey and is actually a little easier if you want to grill your food hibachi style rather than smoked.
