A little late, but if you switch to a covered, top opening litter box (preferably one with a textured lid so they can wipe their feet) it reduces the tracking by A LOT. Also to help boost the odor reduction with multiple cats, I've found adding a scoop of activated charcoal and mixing it in works really well

I love this litter! I have used it for years. It's extremely absorbent and last much longer than any other litter I have used. I usually buy the low tracking pellets and it has zero dust. Zero. There is still mild tracking, but not bad. When I have tried the original formula, I really never noticed much dust there either. I think it's the best thing out there.

I used the original and it tracked all over my house. But I love the less mess version. The pellets are smaller than the pine pellets from tractor supply but big enough there’s a lot less tracking! The less mess still clumps well! I prefer it over the pine pellets from tractor supply.

One thing that helped me ALOT with tracking is getting a top entry litterbox. I got the Arm n Hammer one. The cats quickly adapted to it and it resolved 90+% of the tracking. I used to have mountains of litter in front of the box because my cat digs so vigorously 🤣

We have an 18 pound, Maine Coon size tuxedo who pees so much at one time that it sounds like a faucet is running. No kidding, our cat must drinking Big Gulps behind the sofa because the litter clumps are softball size! He also has a meatloaf shaped sister that uses the same litter box. We've been buying clay "odor control" multi-cat litter, but it tracks EVERYWHERE and has ceased to control odor. I've been debating on switching to a different litter because ours is failing even with constant scooping and vacuuming (honestly, anything is better than what we're using now). So, your review was really helpful, thanks!!!

So i just switched to pine pennets and i love it so much the smell is gone except for when they poop I would much rather shake the litter box every day that scoop out clumping clay litter. I added wood pieces to the sides of my sifter so i litterally just keep the lid on the box and slide it back and forth and because we have carpet its so easy!!!!

Really surprised by all the people saying it’s dusty. I haven’t experienced any dust flying up at all even though I notice a bit of it in the box. I don’t hold the box super high when I pour and I don’t pour fast so maybe that’s why? It definitely does track a bit but I still like it better than clay and baking soda litter since the wood is much bigger so it’s easier to clean and spot. I also found clay litter would mark up my hardwood floor quite a bit.

My cat has no issue with this litter, just adopted him "Blackjack" back in early Jan of 22 and picked up some feather weight okocat litter. It did last about 4.5 months as the box states with very good clumping and order control. It did track some, but I did get a lid on his litter box which helped. I'm getting a grip pad next but hey it doesn't hurt to vacuum more.

I didn't have such a great experience with this litter with my sphynx cat. All of the dust from the litter just painted his skin😅 and it often got caught in his paw and spread every where on the floor. Also the odor control was not too hot. But it was definitely a GREAT clumping. Like rock hard.

Lol i literally just pour a box and i was blown away with the dust. I feel like this litter work well with a litter box that has the opening on top instead of the traditional litter box.

Since “Yesterday’s News” clumping has been discontinued, someone recommended Ökocat. I enjoyed both of the reviews here, but I honestly have to say: if anyone here is REALLY only cleaning around your catbox every THREE WEEKS(!), then you don’t deserve to have a cat. We scoop and lightly hand-vac twice a day around two boxes - not because the litter was bad or spreading everywhere, but because we love our cats. Why would you even go more than a day scooping or gently tidying up around where your cat does his business? Do you clean your toilet only every three weeks? If you love your cat(s), then buy a good tracking mat (usually, it’s the ones with little spaghetti-like squiggles) and spend a little money and buy a small hand-vacuum to clean up the very light bits of litter that may have not hit the mat. Treat your cat like it’s your child and not something to just keep you company.

What scooper do you use? I love this litter. I sweep once or twice a day and don't have that much litter on my floor? Not true, I don't find it dusty at all😁. Way better than clay!!!

use a throw carpet two feet x 6 feet and may be another square one. that should catch all the tracking and then vacuum as usual. I am in the corn litter phase one problem is aflotoxin mold if eaten can be dangerous to kiddy.

Thanks for the review! I've been starting to switch to this litter and interested in seeing what others who have used it have to say. It's great to hear the odor control and clumping are good and that the cats like it! For the tracking, you may want to try a larger litter box with higher sides and a small entrance. An effective and inexpensive solution is cutting an opening in the side of a big plastic storage bin. I've found the tracking to be a lot better than the Naturally Fresh walnut litter I've been using.

I adopted my cat 2 months ago and this is the litter I chose from the start and it is amazing and my cat enjoys it as well. I don't find it dusty, and I also have never had much of tracking problem... So maybe it depends on how your cats use their litter boxes. If they are all using the same box, then I guess you would get a lot more tracking. My only con is that my box said it would last 4 months and it only lasted my single cat 2 months.

Do you think mixing the Original with the Less Mess would make it track less but still be easier to clump and clean than traditional pine pellets?

Thanks for doing these litter reviews! I think I'll try the paper pellets as you suggested in your other video? Crystal litter is great tracking and smell-wise, but I'm concerned that they're not good for cat health. My experience with this OKOCAT litter is that it's great (smell-wise), except it tracks ALL over the house and I need to vacuum multiple times a day 😢

Haha that tracking is terrible!!!! Worst nightmare! Paper was good with the urine odor, but it was really really difficult to identify what was dirty with pee.

Had high hopes for this litter. However day 1 upon opening the bag to fill litter pan I found a slinter (the size half my thumb nail). That is NOT COOL!!!!!!!!!!! For that reason alone, I will not be purchasing it again and may even return this bag. Also day 1, I also noticed the tracking was horrible. Day 1, smell was decent. "like wood". Hope this helps someone.

We got the Ockocat "super soft" litter. I've never tried that brand until just a month ago. I like that it is eco-friendly, plant based, no toxic chemicals, and overall better for the environment. However the "super soft" is just super freakin' dusty stuff. I always use a mask now when cleaning out the litter box. But when we run out, we will try the Okocat, "Original." Hope that one isn't dusty too, lol. Anyone know if the Original by Okocat is dusty like the super soft?

waiting for the cons was agonizing. @4:53 it seemed like it took 5 minutes for each word. dreading that you would say my #1 deal breaker in a cat litter. sure enough... the tracking. and its not just a little tracking. it tracks worse than sand from the beach. not that ive used it. ive just been looking at alot of different cat products before my kitten comes home for the first time after getting bodle fed for 8 to 12 weeks at a shelter.

@@Zytri92 It's Gen-Z and holy eff but don't a ton of those kids have a mess of weird allergies and sensitivities. The ones that don't are equally terrified of the things that cause reactions for others. They won't drink booze or smoke cigarettes but they'll vape nic, smoke weed and swallow prescription amphetamines until the cows come home. They won't let their cat out of doors because social media says cats are an invasive species that wipe out native bird species, ignoring that the only wildlife in the urban metropolises they inhabit are invasive species like pigeons and seagulls and ridiculously populous ones like rats and swallows.

I guess you guys love stepping and sleeping in and on giant chucks of poop covered wood? It doesn’t even clump it stays soft and gets the scooper clogged. This is worst litter ever!!!!!!!. And I didn’t even buy it! It was a gift. My 2 cats also hated it. Took shits and pees outside the box. I’ve used over 10 different kinds and they never did that. And it’s so dusty I had to open window and turn on a fan so I didn’t choke to death on cat poop wood fumes. I’m not upset. Just letting the people who don’t want to vacuum all day long everyday.
