Some people are such babies about taking medicinal, natural remedies that taste a lil funky. I blame addiction to hyper-palatable processed junk foods. Not everything that goes in your mouth needs to be mind-blowingly delicious.
I was drinking okra water during my pregnancy. It's cringe to drink for me personally. My baby came out with the whole bag, my water did not break and I delivered a hour after arriving to the house which took 45 mins to get to. The nurses were in shock and called it the fastest birth of there career, and said my next baby would come faster. What next baby😂😂😂
I had her drinking the okra water for her 2nd and 3rd trimester because for some reason her sac didn't have much water and the doctors was getting concerned so my mum told me to give her okra water and she had to drink it everyday. When it came time for her to deliver she was in labor for about 6hrs she pushed about 8-10 times and he was out.
Thanks for the tip, I wish I knew this before, l have a question can you eat and drink okra from the 1 trimester if someone is being having okra already? Thanks
An African woman recommended okra water for me to regulate my diabetes years ago. I thought the slime would keep me from drinking but it's really not bad at all. Worth it for sure
I use frozen. It's not bad to drink straight. I chase it with anything to skip the taste. Consistency isn't an issue at all. Dry kitty is a thing of the past! And the fluid kitty produces is intoxicating to hubby. Cheers!!❤
@VirtualPayani It was a part of my lifestyle change. I drink it twice a day in the morning 30mins before breakfast and at 30 mins before dinner. A1c went from a 6.8 to 5.0 and 160lbs-145lbs. My doctor gave me 3 months to get myself together, or he was going to put me on meds.
If you ladies doesn’t like the slime I usually mix the okra water with a little lemon juice and that broke the sliminess right up. Gives a thinner consistency
I just soak it in water and drink it throughout the day. Ladies, when I tell you, splash waterfalls! 💦 💦 😂 she’s not lying. It doesn’t have a taste, it’s more of a texture thing… it’s a lil slimy that’s all.
I dreaded it's slimy part,.. Decided to follow your suggestion of taking it with hot water after letting it sit overnight, then before I drank it, I squeezed half a lemon in it, closed my eyes, assumed evthing and let it go down 😂😂, that wasn't so baad😅.. Then afterwards, squeezed alittle bit of lemon on my mouth to forget any slimminess 😂.. 🎉Am clapping for my self👏🏾👏🏾.. 😂, tomorrow again God willing will do it again, and again till it becomes my cup of tea. Thanks all for your suggestion s, and thumps up for the post, am gonna try it with the pinaple twist. Thanks!!!
@@tigerunicornpegases lol ik what you mean. I don’t drink mines cold I prefer it at least room temperature or warm. I see everyone else likes it cold I thought I’d be the only one preferring it warm lol
For better weight results, use hot water and take it instantly without freezing it but I love the tip of taking it with Juice. Will definitely try it out!!
I do a much easier and very tasty version of this. All you have to do is infuse your water with basically the same ingredients I use one full okra. I put this into my 1 L size glass, water bottle. You also probably could do it directly into a 16 ounce plastic water bottle just drink a little off the top to make some room. One piece of okra cut off the stock and the tail so that, the water can flow straight through it. Basically you don’t need to chop it up into pieces. Then I add some cucumber slices and pineapple chunks. A way to avoid waste is when I cut up my cucumbers for salad or my pineapples for a snack or smoothies, I take the parts that I don’t eat and save them in the fridge to infuse them in my water. so basically the center hard piece of the pineapple and the cucumber skins get saved Put some of that in into the water as well. I also use Chia seeds, flax, seeds, and fenugreek seeds. About a quarter of a teaspoon of each seeds- put them all into the water squeeze in a little bit of fresh lemon juice. I personally don’t leave the lemon in while infusing because the rind can make the water kind of bitter but if you like a very strong lemon water, then you can just leave that in there as well. Put it in the fridge let it sit overnight and boom there you have it. Shake it up before drinking each time so that the seeds can flow throughout instead of just sitting at the bottom and the okra can move around instead of just sitting up at the top where you are drinking from. The water is not going to be super thick and mucousy if you’re just using one stalk of okra, but you’re still gonna get the benefits. You can also add more water to that same glass bottle and infuse for a second day before replacing the fruits.
I usually eat 5-8 raw okras before eating any carb or starch rich food to handle sugar spike and ease digestion. I think drinking okra water and eat up all the chopped okra will make a great breakfast for the day. I will start making the water out of frozen chopped okra because I hate when the fresh ones run out in grocery stores
💫✨I think I would try it for sure! 😃 . . . I wonder❔…how a fresh sprig of mint 🌱 would taste 👅 in that - - has anyone ever tried it with a hint 🤏🏼 of 🌱 mint? As you were talking, Maryam, I just thought 💭 about how refreshing it would be, especially with the lemon 🍋 and pineapple 🍍 in it along with the 🥒 cucumber ; nice, chilled, fresh!!!. . . And the effects of not focusing on the slimy okra 🫙 water 💦 is an added plus. Thank you sooo much for sharing and please don’t mind my emojis. In healthful eating, color 🎨 is everything . . . How much more so for a healthy mind via pleasantry by sight!?! Thanks, Lady-Ma’am!💃🏻💫✨
Listen I will chug all types of weird tasting things for my health lol. I can’t take sea moss gel once it’s refrigerated so I mix it in hot tea and chug. I’ll try mixing okra water with blended pineapples, green apples, and strawberry so it can just give smoothie lol. Find a way that works for you cause I know some of y’all be swallowing worse things 😬
@keekssss - greetings, have you tried adding cinnamon & a splash of vanilla as you break down the irishmoss? In my version soak for at least 12 hrs, rinse again, blend on high with minimum water, cinnamon to taste & a splash of vanilla. I make in small batches. No more than 2 cups at a time. All the best.
I’m doing this now but for labor. Honestly the best way I find to drink it and surprisingly my kids love it too. They say it taste like baby food applesauce. I buy %100 percent pineapple juice and cut about 10 or 15 okra up and put it in the juice container. ‘No plastic container’. I shake it up and let it sit for a day at least 24 hrs. And after each cup I refill with water. I use within three days. Keep it refrigerated, I drink with a straw. No weird texture no gaging or anything. Especially if my picking children can drink it then honestly anyone can ❤
For us african women, it's not big news. We've been using it since EVER. This was pratically the only vegetable that i ate during my whole first pregnancy.
Okra isn't big news for us either, Americans grew up on this vegetable 😂😂😂. Just ate it as food instead of a drink . My mom at them raw or fried I never liked them
The test and slim is very manegable after sometime. I drink mine in the morning without straw. I just cut 5-6 okra into pieces and pour normal water and soak them over night.
I never, ever drank okra I will have to try that. But you can make a very quick and healthy seafood/shrimp gumbo with it by boiling the okra in water for about 15 minutes, then add wild caught shrimp, let it boil for 15-30 minutes, season with salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder. Add a spoon of toasted sesame seed oil and cayenne for a more N'awlins type taste. So healthy, warm and soothing..and yes ladies it does help with lubrication..lol! Enjoy!
So just drinking the okra water reduces the days of your period. I have never drank okra water before but will do it next week. I do not want to reduce the days of my period
I will definitely try this, will you please tell me where did you buy your juicer. Am in South Africa, I have been looking everywhere around South Africa looking for this kind of juicer with no luck 😢
Not saying this will work for every woman but I mix pineapple juice with the water, I barely taste the Okra. I did notice my last cycle pain was barely noticeable. I tried drinking daily, it was getting costly and ended up 2-3 times a week.
Thank you so much for this video ✨🫶🏽🦋🩵 currently 5 months pregnant and have been wondering about okra water and I started my garden so I’m gonna def get okra now. Didn’t think I had use for okra in my garden before bc I only ever ate fried okra 🙃 but now I def do even after I have my son 🥰 so thank you for this girl
Can this be made for a few days at a time? Seems like what I’ve read on juicing celery, sometimes the blends can lose their potency/benefits. Not sure if this holds true for other or all veggies.
Add it to your stirfry, or to meat stew. We eat a lot with spinach. If you’re nit used to it. Tomatoes count the slime they say, but we, in the Caribbean and all my African friends love the slime. It’s also a great source of calcium.
Just stumbled on your channel and i must say am impressed.i usually get very dry down there wen having sex nd my husband does not like it.will def try this recipe.pray it works for me😂❤
