I am doing a review and overview of my new Okuma Celilo rod and Okuma Ceymar C10 spinning reel. I will be using this ultra light set up in order to catch mangrove snapper and speckled trout.

The cuts in the spool also helps keep the reel dry under the spool

Hey Luke here. I'm checking out the ceymar c-10. Can it handle saltwater? I'm used to wading in the sea waist deep.

It did well when I used it in a saltwater environment. I would make sure to clean it thoroughly after use.

is this reel good for 5 pound bass and I was also looking at the 6'0 version of that rod, would that be good for largies? Great video!

I would consider moving up to a 1000 size reel just to be safe. It’ll still be a UL set up but it will have a bit more drag.

Lol ive caught a 43" pike on a abu garcia cardinal and then went on to catch a 19" smallmouth a year later. And many walleye, catfish and freshwater drums along the way. Unless its a $20 walmart combo alot of things depend on the angler not the gear

how did you test the drag, only 1 fish even pulled any drag out...?

I tested it by hand. I had to keep the drag tight around the dock to ensure fish didn’t get around the piling and get off.

In this video 4lb test but for panfish I use 2lb test and have successfully caught bass in that low strength line

Keep in mind, a reel can have 11 bearings but, if the bearings are plastic it means nothing. Just something to look at when purchasing a reel

15lb. I’ve found it be more than sufficient for my needs.
