My mum would play this LP “Take it Greasy” for me as a little kid in the late 80s/early 90s. I’ve since bought it on CD, then ripped it to MP3 when cars stopped having CD players. I’m nearly 37 now and still love the heck out of that record!
Mott theHoople so many songs from our days growing up bring tears to my eyes. It’s depressing to look back, how it was, how we were, but the music, wow, how great was the music. It’s all that’s left of this era, memories but great memories.
1976 St.Michael's primary school Lane Cove - Miss Manzie was the best teacher - even better when as 9yr olds we found out she was Jim Manzies sister! We were heart broken when she became MRS O'Donoghue. One day she got Jim to comne to the school - WILD!
I will never forget when this came out & I was a teenager in Australia already in love with the music of 'Ol 55! I know all the words & will never forget it.
Instant nostalgia when it was first released, still just as good today. Had the great good pleasure of meeting Frankie J. Holden a couple of times, an absolute gentleman, no airs, no graces, though at the time he had his own TV show he was still just a regular bloke and I admired the heck out of him.
I'm listening to it in 2022 so cool to listen to great song with great harmonies bring back the seventies and eighties when music was music not like the crap of today that they call music I feel like the teenagers of today missed out on the simple complete life that we had disco's drive in movies and the cinemas it was like heaven to us and I absolutely loved it love Anthony Fed ex lol
💛💜🕺🏼🥳 Wilbur Wilde, Frankie J Holden Molly running Countdown so young. Great music, cool, laid back then. these great Aussie musicians. Gees there’d be some bloody funny stories from these guys working their buts out on the road to make a buck $ or $$
I want to be at the drive in diner, where they bring you your food on roller skates, eating a cheeseburger, fries, and a cherry coke with this song playing.
Back in day as teenagers local radio stations had request and dedication lines, where we could call in request a popular song, dedicate a love song for your steady, my girlfriend would dedicate to me"For your precious love" every now and then Wolfman Jack would be a special DJ guest.
Went to a sox hop with them playing in Chatswood Sydney. My boyfriend spent the previous yea r doing up a classic Humber Snipe & out we popped for the HOP!
In a huge fan of the seventies and eighties this a great song from a great band of the seventies it was a much simpler life disco's drive in theatres cinemas on a Saturday night the teenagers of today missed out on a great way of living and hoping looking to the future of what was going to happen next the teenagers of today were born into everything that that transpired in that period and don't really appreciate what we didn't have a great way of living and making our on fun teenagers get to bored a word that does not compute with me love Anthony Fed ex lol
I know this song is in some ways a compilation about so many songs back then I just cant remember which ones, any ideas,,, I know its doo wop but some of these chord sequences were used over more than once. keep on searching I guess.
I really enjoyed my high school years but I really wonder about this "Daydream Junior High School" it sounds amazing, perhaps its not too late to request a transfer? Are they accepting new students in their 60s?
