First met Gary on the Irons Travel Club Football Special Trains back in 1983 when he was one of the Stewards.Totally agree with his views on leaving the Boleyn.
Spot on, give me the 70s any day when MUFC were relegated and we won 1 FA Cup in the decade. Success brings the new lot in at the expense of time served reds, we get a decent atmosphere twice a season v city and liverpool and the odd european night. The old boys like myself are no longer wanted at Old Trafford, and everyone today has to be a star of social media or intermet tv-ask them who scored Uniteds goals in the 77 final and they wont be able to answer you. Players from the 70s/80s and even early 90s walk past on matchday and apart from myself and a couple of others are ignored, rip MUFC, you sold your soul to the corporate world.
The Gooner ex editor lives in Orpington 2. Read the fanzine a couple of times and its a good read. New ground will be shit... take my word 4 it... look at The Emirates compared to Highbury. Full of toursists day trippers and people who play on their phones/i pads whilst the footballs on!! Good luck
