It was already mentioned why. William and Amelia were mistreated by their respective parents because they were the eldest siblings in their respective families, so for some stupid reason they decided to continue the ‘tradition’ with Michael. What happened with Evan was just justification in their eyes.

Michael's "Antihero" entrance was Awesome! I say anti hero and not villain because Michael is the "good guy" but calling an Afton a hero feels weird. Perhaps Vigilante!Michael whould work as a plot with Michael(&co) being the lawless rouge protagonist(s) and William being the evil multimillionaire with corrupted animatronic underlings.
