Mega Man was released in 1987 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Developed by Capcom, the series caught on so much with its rage-inducing difficulty and incredible soundtracks that they were able to not only create 9 other sequels to the classic formula - but also create dozens of other games in spin-off forms. Mega Man X for the SNES, Battle Network for the GBA, Legends for the PS1 - and this isn't even including the Gameboy remakes, PSP remakes (Powered Up especially) and everything else Mega Man related. He's even appeared in Smash Bros since then. And now Caddicarus is going to try and review all the classic series, at least, with the versions available on PC / PS4 / Xbox One / Nintendo Switch known as The Mega Man Legacy Collection, and then there's the Mega Man Anniversary Collection. In this part, he's only got a few games from the Legacy Collection 1 to go through and then the whole of the Legacy Collection 2! Mega Man 5, Mega Man 6, Mega Man 7, Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10 are all covered in this video - let's hope we can conclude this series with Caddy still being alive.

@@stardust2441 No game beaten so far this year, I'm afraid. I've been working a lot because of the quarantine. I'm planning on tackling Azure Striker Gunvolt (because I haven't finished it yet) , replaying the X series as usual or buying the Zero+ZX collection to beat them all back to back (it's been quite a while) I have replayed 3 through 6 of the classic games earlier this year, I don't think I will play many classic series games this May... Thanks for asking! What about you, playing anything?

If Caddy were up for it, I'd be down for the "The Wily* World of Mega Man spin offs". Covering classic era spin offs as well as the sequel franchises like the first games of MMX, Zero, Battle Network, etc. while Caddy tries to get into these games and see whether or not they're as fun or bad as we made it out to be. *Title needs work

Megaman 1-5 (maybe 6) on the Gameboy that played differently than the NES versions, Wily wars for the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive), Megaman Soccer (NTSC), there were 2 power battles, a racing game i think called Battle & Chase, Megaman & Bass (GBA), and the misadventures of Tronne Bonne. I think thats all of them.

I'm glad that there's someone else who understands just how good Megaman 5 actually is and gives it the credit it's due. People to this day don't understand just how polished the game is. There is absolutely no poorly made design choices or bosses unbeatable without their weakness weapons, the challenge is fun, fair and a fantastic representation of the entire Megaman series even beyond the classic series. If you wanted a Megaman game to get into the series with, you can't go wrong with 5.

... Caddy, Rush IS hidden in suit form in 7. You need to collect the hidden RUSH letters. You can even get an upgrade to give the suit a better charge shot! Also you forgot how Bass was made playable in 10 via DLC.

I remember playing my first Mega Man game... It was Mega Man 10 on the PS3! It was kinda unique seeing a game trying to faithfully recreate 8 bit back then, before "retro" became so mainstream that everyone started doing it. I never could get very far, being someone who grew up on 6th generation consoles and not up to the difficulty, but I have fond memories of it =)

I thoroughly enjoyed these two videos, Caddy; excellent work, funny as always and just as in-depth and fair as I've come to expect from you. Seriously, I love it when you take on old games that you haven't played before because you have this ability to look at them from a fair perspective with a minimal amount of nostalgia - personally I grew up with these games and beat them all without any kind of auto-fire or save states, and I loved them, but as a much older man I am now finding myself not enjoying them as much as I thought I would. Can't wait to see what you decide to make next! :)

Glad to see you liked 5 so much, it's my favorite too! It was the first one I played as a kid, and it's what got me hooked on the series. I like the earlier ones too, but I'm glad I didn't get to them until I was older; if I'd started with any of them as a kid, I probably would've been turned off to the whole series lol

5 is probably my favorite, although oddly enough...for the soundtrack. I certainly think the level design was pretty cool, but I think the music was the most inspired and (successfully) experimental in that game.

Mega man 6 is actually my favorite game. The graphics are beyond beautiful, the levels are great, and the robot masters are some of the coolest designs ever. I love Flame Man, Tomahawk Man, and Blizzard Man so much. The weapons are also really cool as they all have interesting uses and all have a place in the game. I especially love knight crusher, silver tomahawk, and flame blast

i know Willy catching roboenza is just "its a silly game dont question it" but considering the X games heavily imply Willy in some way digitized himself, it could be seen as a hint that he has already started the process and is not entirely human now

Wily did not catch roboenza. Wily inmediately denies that, and states that it's actually a normal fever... Why did Caddicarus and so many people think that he actually got roboenza? The only thing that hints at that happening is a MegaMan dialogue of all things, and MegaMan himself has a mind and inoccence compared to a child's. You can see that because MegaMan falls under the fake Dr. Wily in the MegaMan 9 trap even after Protoman warned him that it's a trap. MegaMan really is a hero and has a strong sense of justice, but you can obviously see as well that he really is not that smart. 9 is by FAR the best in the series. It coming later doesn’t prevent it from being the best. Especially because a your gripes are immediately remedied if you play as Proto Man.

10:45 Well, to be fair, that kinda was the Super Nintendo's thing. Each NES franchise that received an SNES outing got this sort of treatment. My favorite example being Super Metroid, where the first part literally brings you through the ending sequence of the NES Metroid, with all the added effects the Super Nintendo could muster.

You should play Proto Man mode with Legacy Collection's Super Armor option on. Enemies do half damage, meaning he'll take normal.

Hi! So, first off I have to say, these two videos where my first tastes of your channel and I can say that I definitely enjoyed them I wanted to make a quick correction, megaman 9 and 10 do have intro cutscenes. For some reason, the legacy collection ports borked them, and you gave to wait for a bit at the title screens for them to show up. All the same, loved the vids and you're getting my sub!

you're a brave man, caddy. these games are hard as balls, and you did them all. in order. bravo! i have to say though, megaman 3 is actually one of my favorites. its likely nostalgia speaking, as it was the first megaman game i ever played and beat, but it was a ton of fun. the nes version even had neat cheats you could do with a second controller. does the legacy collection include this? Either way, awesome video series. now go take a nap.
