If you have a 100watter with 4 el34 just pull the 2 end valves off and make a 50watter 2xel34.

Just tried this with my Marshall 100w. Amazing, I can now hear the rest of the band, even if Im playing my Fender gibocaster at full volume and stand in front of my 4x12 cab. 😂😂😂😂😂

Really useful tutorial Chris. Im glad to see theres a way to remove remnants of all my bad riffing from the valves. Will do this to every amp before I sell them - dont want the next owner to hear the after effects of poor playing!

After the purge, refill with de-ionized water for a few minutes. That will recharge the depleted cathode.

I had an Orange combo 20 years ago that I looaned out to a pal, he brought it back I turned it on and it worked. Later on I saw that the 1st ecc83 had imploded but the frame was still in the base and for some reason it still worked reasonably well, can any-one explain. It had 2 ecc83s and 2 el84s and a gz34?
