Whilst I applaud your considerable efforts to make an aesthetic restoration, I am concerned that electrically the light is not working as designed. I noticed at least one electrolytic capacitor on the PCB which has obviously failed, due to signs of bulging and leakage, and as others have mentioned you have failed to install a suitable replacement battery. It is highly likely that the failure of the fluorescent tube to properly strike is due to a failed component on the PCB, possibly the aforementioned capacitor.
@@samuelfellows6923 That appears to be the case, although, as they're used on a portable light, and not a road-going vehicle it's much less of an issue (it's unlikely anyone will be dazzled) as the spotlights are easily adjusted to optimise the beam position. Obviously, correct installation of the lenses would be the preferred option to ensure the best overall spotlight adjustment and coverage.
That's awsome. The new color looks real good. I suggest you get some LED bulbs for all three lights. They same money on electricity, last long, and are very bright. Yes, you can get tube style led. 👍💡
The inside of this case is big enough for a rechargeable battery. You should consider a follow up video to this one and make some upgrades on your restore. The orange looks very good. If you made some black bands across it in certain areas to decorate it, it would look even better than it already does. Excellent restore video.
who on earth use tubelight in led era..it could damage cover required...n if u r using in emergency lighting without alternetive source...pls make intellectual... approach
Batteries not included lol - a couple of 7.5ah lead acid batteries like the ones in security alarms are the likely candidate, the circuit board is the inverter/driver for the tube, and charging control circuit. Nice restoration. Love seeing old things get a new lease of life! Thank you for the video.
Need to swap all the bulbs to LED conversions. The battery will last longer (if you installed one) and you wont have the cold start problems like you do with the fluorescent bulb. Other than that, nice work.
I like that you kept the lighting technologies the same rather than changing the bulbs out for LED's. In my opinion LED's would really destroy the unique and vintage aesthetic of the fixture.
Nice resto but some comments. 1) Please complete resto by repair of circuit board, a bulging capacitor being one defect as others have pointed out. 2) You should not use carbon tetrachloride cleaner, it is hazardous. 3) It needs batteries. 4) If I Google Stardust emergency light and look at pictures of this it appears that the fluorescent light is NOT original and someone has added that. Best wishes.
