The new Assistant Deputy Commissioner keeps his eye on Boden and makes his presence in Firehouse 51 evermore apparent.

The firefighters and the paramedics of Firehouse 51 deal with a 25-story apartment fire that creates chaos. Detective Jay Halstead’s father is one of the victims trapped inside. Meanwhile, Casey and Brett continue to deal with Dawson’s departure and Brett gets a special gift that helps her cope. Foster opens up about her past. One of the firefighters gets into trouble while trying to save another firefighter. Severide makes a daring rescue of a small boy from the upper floors.

The guy playing Gorsche actually did a good job. You can feel that hatred for his character in the comment section. Means he did a great job as an actor!

i love the Friendship/Personal Scenes between Chief Boden , Severide and Casey . Specially that Boat Scene in this Clip , they Way he tells them that Story about Gorsch . Its like a Father tells his Sons a Story about his Past . And in this Version The Chief is the " Father" and Severide and Casey are the "Sons".

Why yes, because by the time 'by-the-book' methods would have worked the victim would have suffered such severe burns and further electrocution that recovery would not have been possible. Honestly I hate people who are always by-the-book even in life and death situations. While it is safer, it's not the best route to save someone's life.

Totally agree, sometimes you need to move away from what your taught and trust your guts. Human instincts in my opinion is the best tool to save a life, but I do understand that what their taught is meant to protect them from danger, cos who will protect us if no one protects them

I really get why Boden wasn't interested in this guy. He's so focused on following the rules to the letter that he's not flexible enough to see that there are some situations training can't prepare you do.

We had a couple of probys like that, twin brothers called the McQuirks. Bloody useless but both had business degrees and both made Chief Officer of different brigades where they proceeded to destroy them in the name of 'rationalisation' making both brigades a poor shadow of their former selves. This plot is too close to home.

Just how fast up the fire pole did they climb to get to Chief Fire Officer ...? In my day, when Station Officers were a thing, from what two Veterans of the LFB told me, it often took quite a few years to reach Sub-Officer, let alone SO, then even a few more to make ADO/Station Commander. One LFB vet I know well, said that, in most cases, his Watch breathed a sigh of relief when someone was 'promoted out of harm's way', but sounds like you had it way worse than that ... which makes me wonder whose shoes they were ... ahem ... polishing ... Oh, and the guy that used to play Sub-Officer Hallam (sp?), in 'London's Burning' used to shop in my local Waitrose ... he actually didn't look much different from way back then ...
