Old Composer REACTS to DIMASH War and Peace 2021 

This is actually his own composition so I'm glad you were able to react to it as a composer yourself!! I love his original music... and one of my favorites is golden that he just released from his virtual concert. He uses some distortion in his voice but it's great! As far as the best vocal performance from him recently is "Stranger" and it's absolutely freakin' mind-blowing.

This is his own composition.. And in my opinion its an absolute masterpiece.. And the lyrics of it just so powerful. The music and arrangement depicting the vibe like war hungry, chaos, evil and riot.. And his voice as if depicting the good, the longing for peace, hope, wishes, prayers and begging for everything bad to end. It like the fight between evil and good.

Just so you know, Dimash actually composed this song, and he had a Chinese lyricist write the lyrics for him. He composed a few of his songs such as this one. In addition to his university degrees in classical/opera singing and pop/jazz singing, he also has a Master’s degree in composition.

I absolutely love this song. I'd put it ahead of many of his more sweeping, operatic songs. I find it intensely moving, both emotionally and musically. I love the percussion, the strings, the distorted guitar, the key changes, the vocals, all of it. And the subject matter is something he's sincerely passionate about. It rips my heart out every time he performs it.

This song is not new...this performance is from his Digital Concert at the beginning of the year.he composed it in 2018 and hired a Chinese poet to write the lyrics so he could be sure the they conveyed what he wanted to express.

This song can’t be compared to the really “big” numbers. It’s in its own lane. I love this version. The subject matter is current and important. If you hear the lyrics, it’s a one of a kind. I don’t know anyone who would sing about this. When he started his concert tour, he talked about how we are are equal and deserve peace. His words were, “but some of us are conceited and…….”. Then he went into this song. Another comment he made was, “I think you know why I wrote this”. What other contemporary entertainer talks about their beliefs and hopes, for this world.

Love this song cause I love his rock voice, and it's his own composition! 😀 Don't try to guess his directions, there are so many roads he is following. He is always crossing boundaries, mixing diverent styles and genres. His chinese songs are more pop, chinese pop. His kazakh songs are folk/jazz, maybe? Thank you for your great reaction! Dimash composed 'War and Peace' himself years ago, it premiered at his China concert in the end of 2017. Overall, Dimash is a true musician and always arranges the songs he sings, often together with his arranger. I think this song is a masterpiece. The lyrics are very poetic and philosophical. They are initially from Dimash too; he hired a Chinese poet to write them in Chinese according to his wishes. A very unique, complex composition and deep, important message. One of my all time favorites.

I love this song and the way he delivers it. I never compare his songs because each one shines in a different way. He's so talented that like the saying goes, "he could sing the phone book and it would be fantastic!" (Are there actually phone books anymore? Lol) I always enjoy your reactions.

I always enjoy your inputs on the composition of a piece but would like to draw your attention to the extraordinary skill and talent it takes to sing full voiced on one's knees, bent over, and with more emotion then most singers can manage upright! Just amazing!!

As a whole this and Ogni Pietra are my favorites. I love the rock fusion vibe in this one. I really want him to delve more into rock and even metal, that would be amazing. Golden is another one with a lot of rock influence. The dynamics and flow of this song though, compositionally I think it was brilliant.

I like this song as its one of the most powerful songs he has done in the name of peace which he promotes through everything he does (Just my opinion)

It is indeed different (you listened to SOS and Love is like a dream I think), but his incredible versatility proves that he is a full artist. A reactor told on his channel that Dimash is the ultimate performer and I like this expression: he has a full set of skills. He does not need to hit the highest notes systematically to be amazing: he always performs beyond perfection, beyond far from all we have known so far. For me the most impressive is his ability to connect with the audience, the emotions he is able to share with the public: his voice directly talks to our souls. Please continue your Dimash's journey, he never disappoints, all his songs are absolutely mind blowing (if I had to select my favorites ones, it would be Autumn Strong and Know, but I love all the others so much!)

Fabulous reaction! As an "older" composer, musician, and vocalist myself, this song spoke to my heart. Dimash composed the music and I love the chord changes into unexpected places while his vocals speak (sing?) for themselves. To me, there is no richer or rewarding experience than someone performing their own compositions. This one thrilled me to pieces and I look forward to a fresh perspective once the subs are added in. Dimash composed this a few years ago in his late teens, early 20s and it was first performed in China at one if his solo concerts in 2017 🌟

War and Peace is my favorite song composed by Dimash! ❤ I'm so glad he included this song in his digital show! I think it's the best, in terms of sound quality! It's because he doesn't have a lot of versions of this song out there.

I love this song, I regularly listen to it while driving. Dimash included it on his cd called "ID" which was released in China originally. That cd went platinum in China in 37 seconds and was triple platinum within an hour. This version that you were listening to is from his digital show released in January 2021. He has been releasing performances from this show one by one. Also, he participated over the summer 2021 in The Slavic Bazaar and The New Wave as a judge and guest performer. His performances from these events are fantastic and highly watched. The performances from New Wave included premiers of three brand new songs "Stranger", "Fly Away" and a new version of "Ave Maria" (not Schubert). That's the magnificence of Dimash - he can sing anything from opera to pop, love songs, folk songs, movie themes, crossover music - and he does it like no other with that exquisite voice and amazing range. A lot of his recent releases are from the digital concert he gave early this year. Because of CoVid, he couldn't tour so he did an online concert. Three of the other recent releases (Stranger, Ave Maria, and Fly Away) he sang as a guest performer at the International Competition of Young Performers "New Wave-2021" in Sochi, Russia.

Igor Krutoy, the famous Russian composer is akin to David Foster, came out of retirement just to work with Dimash. Dimash was the composer of this song, it's near and dear to his heart.

This is one of my favorites. I especially love the lyrics and his passion in singing them.

I really like this one :) Of the stuff Dimash dropped in the last two months, this one, Give Me Your Love and Be With Me are his own compositions and they're all more modern. Stranger and Ave Maria are new ones composed by Igor Krutoy specifically for Dimash. Olympico (a more operatic one) was also written by Igor but it's "just" a new version, not actually a new song. And you did Love is Like a Dream. Golden and Across Endless Dimensions are also more contemporary though not brand new.

He can sing anything. Pop, opra, rock, rap. He said as a 5 yr old he was given paper to draw anything he wanted. He drew a stage with the lighting, everything. He loves the stage and uses it to the fullest. He conducts with his hands as he is singing. He truly enjoys all kinds of music. Outside of watching first, watching the contest he was in china, this song, War & Peace was one song I really enjoyed. He does know beautiful music when he hears it. Hello, thank you for this reaction and your insight as a musician. He is releasing in his channel one by one all the songs that he performed in his digital concert of January 2021 (people from 100 countries purchased tickets for it). He made 17 songs in that concert, and recently began to upload some of them. We are wating patiently that he uploads also "Omir Oter", which he premiered in that concert and has not performed again, so the fans who could not attend it weren't able to hear it yet. He has also premiered 3 songs recently in the New Wave festival, which are all amazing: a vocalization in an original "Ave María" with a modern instrumental arrangement and otherwordly vocals, a song named "Stranger" with epic instrumentation and "oriental" scales and harmonies, and "Fly away", a catchy pop/disco music song with a marvelous message about freedom. This version of War and Peace has different instrumentation and arrangement than other versions, but he does that a lot, he almost never performs a song the same way, he changes the instrumental arrangement, or the vocals, or both.

The song was first presented 16 December 2017 at his live D-Dynasty Concert in Changsha, China. Dimash song is actually called "World of War", this was stated by Dimash in a 2019 TV Interview in Kazakhstan, "War & Peace" is the Chinese translation to english. It is a powerful song that Dimash has performed several times during his 2020 Arnau Tour. The message of this song is very important for Dimash.

BRAZIL - You've already won my entry just for explaining the different reasons why Dimash has become one of your favorites, because I identify myself that way too: Dimash is much more than vocal range, it's interpretation, it's emotion, it's innovation, it's versatility and I really appreciate this change of musical genres (Pop, Rock, Rap, Folk, Opera or Popera) and the more torn vocals reminding Rock. Golden was an example where Dimash revamped the vocals, as he always opens shows with her and should redesign DURDARAZ (Kazakh music), which is a mix of DOMBRA (Kazakh instrument) with guitars. I love WAR AND PEACE, the lyric it's beautiful; Dimash cares a lot about world peace, kids; the arrangement and vocals are wonderful. Nice to see you Mr Geebz. It's true, Dimash modulates his voice range. The variety of tones of his,now is not to demonstrate "look what I do". Each tone of voice has a meaning. This song is an appeal to cease hatred, is a calling to the mercy of our hearts. Two of his last songs are very interesting for your analysis Mr Geebz. One is the AVEMARÍA with which Dimash made half the planet cry with emotion. It´s vocalized and totally different from the known ones, with the incorporation of astral noises at the beginning and a masterful use of musical resources and tempos to awaken emotions. The other is called STRANGE and begins with an extraordinary Kazakh instrument called kobiz.
