Shades of Periphery for sure with these guys. The djent-style heavy rhythm mixed with the ambient lead, the clean and dirty vocal styles, all that stuff. They nailed it though, super impressive.

You should check song's demo version, on which Pierre played solo. With all due respect to Graham, his solo is nowhere near as good as that one on demo.

Good luck, have fun! Geebz, you should totally return to Loathe and check their heavier songs out, either 'Gored' or my favorite 'Heavy is the head that falls with the weight of a thousand thoughts'. Never heard of this group , but I'm impressed! Getting heavy vibes of Within the Ruins during the verses, Scale the Summit in the chorus/solo. Delightful mix of incredible rhythmic technicality and lovely melody.

their first album "ascendancy" (from which this song is from) is an absolute djent classic in my opinion. The guitar players are absolutely top-notch and perform extremely well live. I'd heavily recommend checking Ascendancy, as well as their 2nd album "Super 90' ", in which they found a really distinct guitar sound (one that I'd never heard in djent) that makes the album incredibly unique (there are some insane songs on this album as well, it might be my favorite).

All the suggestions for the next Kadinja song have been solid choices. The band is absolutely ace. I'd request that you check out "Avec tout mon Amour" after you've done a few other songs. This one is the final song from their Super 90' album and it's an absolute heart ripper and easily my favorite song from the album.

Pretty sure the stop/start staccato notes/riff you were referring to is actually very common in the progressive metal subgenre called Djent. Try your luck with some Twelve Foot Ninja, you might like it! Cheers from Canada, man!

Man, I'm so glad you got to Kadinja, it's one of my favourite bands, the most perfect balance of chaos and beautiful melodies that I've ever listened to. If you ever go back to Kadinja try The Modern Rage or Muted Rain from Super 90' album. I've been silently following the channel for some time now and I just love your insights. I've been playing since I was 8yrs old and I happily say that I learn something new from you every time I see one of your videos. Another band that I would love to see your reaction to is Ebonivory. The Long Dream I album is amazing, Window Man and Hanmer Street are absolutely great songs.

i talked to pierre (the guitar player in this band) they absolutely did a lot of time alignment and cut everything to be as clean as possible, it doesn't mean they can't play it, cause they can play it live for sure, just when you're recording, it's not really a human possibility or worth the time and effort to be able to get that to sound as clean as it does without doing a lot of editing.

Hey Geebz, always loving the videos. If you want a new band to check out, please take a look at Morphide. They're a Danish prog metal band that's fairly new and up and coming. As for songs, I recommend Aftermath, Akeneo, Panopticon, and Mayhem, in that order. Keep up the awesome stuff man!

A good gate and good both hand muting can make for that clean of starts and stops as well. Not saying I know either but it’s possible they got that tightness in the performance rather than post. They are excellent guitarists.

These guys kick butt although they are right on the tipping point of "Too Much" in the song. The chugging has alot of similarity to the band Vitalism which you have visited once before. This chugging can be done without cutting anything from the head or the tail by very skillfully muting the strings and using delay. Please react to Vitalism - Clairvoyance .
