I appreciate that you don't do lyric reactions, but if any Tool song should be a lyric reaction, it's this one. I love watching reactions to this song to see people's faces. Some are smart enough to get certain things ('Arizona Bay' for instance) and some aren't, but damn, but everybody gets the gist. This is one of the most brutal lyrical skewerings ever put to tape. The delicateness and nuance of Danny's percussive choices in this song always blow me away. I mean really listen to what he's doing from 8:05 on for about 30 seconds. ALso, this is one of Tool's dirge-iest sounding songs, in parts, I love how they transform and emerge from the more straightfoward metal/rock parts into the more ambient, dirge like sections. Brilliant stuff, probably their angriest song, at least lyrically until Ticks & Leeches.

Add some Primus to you list. Same caliber musicianship but very bass-focused. Les Claypool puts on a clinic with every performance (My Name is Mud is a great jumping-off point for sure). Absolutely love watching your journey down the proverbial rabbit hole, though. Keep 'em coming, lovin' what you're doing.

You need to do Parabol + Parabola from Tool ! That song was the one that got me hooked when i was a kid!

I'm pretty sure I remember Maynard using a keyboard (or something along those lines) during live shows. Not all the time, but a few times. And Adam uses one now too in the new album

I best understand this song in 6/4 but it could easily be seen as 4/4 with triplets throughout; but during some of the drumming and bass in the middle section they play triplets over an already triplet feel so fast it's amazing.

When you're hearing the spread on Danny's kit, you're hearing it from the audience view. Hihat on the right and ride on the left. I like to where my headphones reversed so I can hear and see it from Danny's seat.

I wanna see what you think of they're earlier works, too, but they had a different bassist (Paul). Keep up the good work, Geebz!

I found you randomly today. Happy I did. I remember when my big sister gave me the gift of Maynard. She first introduced me to Maynard's other baby; A Perfect Circle. I must say to this day, I am more of a sucker for the philosophical vibes. I can feel the beautiful acoustic, softer and more melodic mood in any track by APC. As for TOOL Jambi, is my absolute favorite song by TOOL. it grabs you from the second it begins. the lyrics for this song are kind of terribly heartbreaking in certain ways. I'll give you my favorite verse "You're my piece of mind -my home -my center -just trying to hold on one more day." Lastly- my favorite female artist is Fiona Apple. Perhaps might have heard some songs from the 90's on the radio such as her hit "criminal". could I request you do a reaction video to her track entitled "Extraordinary Machine" OR tool's "Jambi"? Vocals-as-instrument is something i first picked up listening to Yes -- and discovered how common that is in prog rock!

Tool has been my favorite band for 25+ years. I’ve seen them live 5 times and some of their stuff sounds “fuller?” on the albums vs live, you get tons of solos which are soulfully hypnotic. I’ve called it “meditative metal” sometimes. You said in one video “the soundtrack of our lives.” Succinct. Anyway...Thank you for explaining to me why I love Tool so much! Welcome to the Toolshed, fellow Tooligan and spiral out.
