That depends on how much you leave the valve open. The wider you leave it, the hotter it gets. I know that if you completely close the valve, the fire will starve out. I've only used it with the billows system, so I wouldn't know exactly how low it maintains the temp.
I have the same smoker and undoubtedly the addition of the signals and billows fan made a huge difference in stable temperature control. I also used the exact same charcoal available at Costco, along with the prime cut brisket. Needless to say the chicken, ribs and brisket were spot on delicious. My Traegar Silverton is jealous and has been relinquished to salmon and pork tenderloin only. I only wish there was an additional gravity fed chamber for the smoking wood! That would make pellet smokers obsolete...
