"Down Home Girl" Lyrics:
Well I swear your perfume, baby, is made out of turnip greens
Every time I kiss you girl, it tastes like pork and beans
Even though you're wearing those uptown high heels
I can tell from your giant step you've been walking through the cotton fields
Ohhhhhh you're so down home girl
Every time you monkey, child, it takes my breath away
Well, every time you move like that, girl, I got to get down and pray
Girl, you know that dress you're wearin' made out of fiber glass
Every time you move like that, girl, I got to go to Sunday mass
Ohhhhhh you're so down home girl
I'm going to take you to the muddy river and push you in
So I can watch the water roll on down your velvet skin
I'm gonna take you down to New Orleans, down in Dixie land
So I can watch you do the second line with an umbrella in your hand
Ohhhhhh you're so down home girl Subscribe to Nettwerk's RU-vid channel:

I saw them last Saturday even though it was in the south; but I'm a hard core rocker and their show blew every metal, rock, blues, etc. show away. They filled up 7 city blocks with people watching the show. People for as far as you could see. It had to be one of the best shows I have ever seen, and I have seen a many rock shows, and they held their own that day.

I saw them way back in 2001 on the street in Bristol,Tn they were young and wild but man could they play even back then. They had a real live old timey string band sound to it back then. I remember a few years later seeing wagon wheel music video on TNN and I instantly recognized them and knew they were gonna be recognized worldwide eventually

I am a classically trained professional musician and I love this group. What gets played on radio waves these days are just so nauseatingly over-produced/glossied up. But music and musicians like this group still gives me some hope... and that elderly gentleman's comment was just priceless!!!

I saw them in Boston almost a decade ago. I was walking by Fenway Park and the House of Blues. A guy got out of a tour bus and I asked him who was playing and he said, "Old Crow Medicine Show and the Lumineers". Had no idea who either group was and the guy looked up and said, "you want to go to the show". I replied, "Hell yeah", he proceeded to give me two tickets to the show. One of the most awesome shows I have ever seen. I still don't know which band member he was or if it was just someone with the band. What a cool way to get tickets.

saw these guys play at Shepards Bush in London. I had discovered the band just hours before I decided to go with the person who introduced me to them. I was absolutely blown away. It was my first week in London, my first week as an exchange student. It set the stage for an amazing fun filled semester. The closest they come to me this semester is the Clearwater Festival, which doesn't look like my kind of scene. Too family friendly. But I'll probably go just to see OCMS, and I'll be shitfaced.

Reminds of the early '80s when I rented a room with a porch from a little old lady in the high desert of So Cal. I was listening to David Allan Coe one weekend on the porch and she came outside to do some yardwork. She said she liked the music, and asked if it was disco.

That cop, lol... I bet if he didn't show up until 1/2 way thru the performance (around 2:05 ) he would have been far too scared to approach, muchless disband, these guys, because Ketch standing there playing perfect Bob-Dylan-esque blues-harp rolls, so aggressively, would have put such fear into the heart of that policeman, he would have contracted heart palpitations and run back to the prescient, crying! ...Slink away, boys......slink away! God Bless The Old Crow Medicine Show, if they aren't just angels disguised as humans, that is, and i'm pretty sure they are, because how else could mortals make such divine goddamn music?! Well, dude, we just don't know...
