Oh Paul and family please accept our heartfelt sympathy. We have 4 old English Sheepdog oldest is 13 in Sep. Have had sheepies since 1984. It is so heartbreaking when one of these magnificent creatures pass over. Leela looked a sassy girl with attitude. Thank you for posting her video. Cheers J.🐑🐑🐑🐑
My deepest condolences. My OES Bogi passed away a little over a year ago (you can see him in my avatar); he was almost 13 years old at the time. I miss him dearly.
cute and so funny, so carefree. you must be good owners. she's beautiful. plus I like that she has a tail as opposed to most other olde english sheepdogs.
haha thats EXACTLY wat my OES does!!! it so funny wen he does as he talks to u as if to say "naa go away dont wanna go out its pissin it down wiv rain n im warm and chilled n if i go out there ima get wet n cold lol!!"
You should never have stopped filming Leela that day! At least you should have waited till she got off the couch. I love how you say, 'don't just lay there,' and so she shifts her position slightly. So cute. More Leela please. Now. Chop, chop. :)
Just stumbled upon this clip and after losing my gorgeous OES after 15yrs it keeps me smiling when I feel a bit down. Thankyou for posting it they are the best dogs ever!
This is the funniest thing I've seen in ages. I am about to get my new OES puppy in 2 weeks and I will be thrilled if he is half as hilarious as this fella. I love the token gesture with the toe when you say, "don't just lie there".
I watched Leela’s video many times because my Yuki who was also OES was about the same age as her. She was born in 2008. When I was very lonely she came into my life and was always there for me. Couple days ago, my Yuki passed away. I have never felt this kind of pain in my life. I close my eyes and smell her blanket and see her running toward me from heaven.
This is my FAVORITE you tube video. I watch it again and again. I like how you say, don't just lay there and so she shifts position. How did you not throw yourself onto her cute face and rub her tummy? OMG. You are so lucky.
OMG, it has a tail !!! (My gorgeous OES is now 7 so she doesn't have a tail) - Ive never seen one! so cute!!! Ellie does this also, FORGET ABOUT MOVING !! hehe so cute!
@Jeanfrancoisdube Centuries ago OES dogs had their tails docked because they were working dogs and subject to tax by the king. Dogs with tails were "luxuries" for hunting and were taxed as such. There was also concern about the dog's tail being stepped on or caught while working. There is NO/ZERO rationale for a domesticated OES pet getting docked. Done at day 3-5 WITHOUT anesthesia, it subjects the dog to totally unnecessary trauma. Tonsils should be removed only by medical necessity.
@dannyazure hmm well it would be better if all dogs would have theyre tail cut it doesnt even hurt them cause the muscles arent grown yet and it prevent from tail injury wich can be really shitty to deal with if i remember well
@seekermike007 Mike... I am taking the morning off to consider the profound thinking you invoked in your comment. I'm looking at an adorable video of an OES ... with a tail. I proffered my comment about preferring them with a tail (with rationale) and you come back with... thoughtful comments about my "stupid notion" and male circumcision. When will Geo. Bush and global warming enter this discussion? I can't wait for your next utterance. Give it a lot of thought. PLease.
@pedro6199782 its used mainly to prevent injuries in working dogs, this is clearly not a working dog... also its cutting the nerves that hurts, not the muscles. the tail injury your talking about is mainly from hunting dogs wagging their tail in bushes and getting it cut up, this is not a hunting dog. lastly its cruel because dogs use their tail to communicate with other dogs. cutting it off means that they cant communicate properly.
@CCConservatory You are obviously not seriously involved in the breed club structure; Oesca, etc. and those of us who love the breed, appreciate the history of the breed and its unique character thank heaven that YOUR leanings will Never go over on this club or the Westminster shows. I don't know of your dog ownership history i suspect that it has been mongrelized. Seriously, i would be astounded if you had been in sheepies for long. Sounds like you're trying to turn the oes to a beardie.
@dannyazure I'm circumcised and I'm very happy with the procedure. So are my girlfriends. Was I a victim of a cruel ritual as a child? Am I suffering from having this surgery? It's asinine to say that it is cruel to dock the tail of a canine. The bottom line: an Old Engish Sheepdog with a tail is an ABOMINATION!!
@CCConservatory I hope to God that this stupid notion never infects the national old english show clubs and fanciers! People like you would say all male circumcision has to stop as well.
