Also the millennials leave out certain steps along the way! Like they just can’t bare to give away anything for free just there for the views n add revenue! Cheap dumb generation will do anything for money n would rather cut their arm off than give something for free! Thank the lord for people like this guy who are happy to pass down cooking methods to the rest of the world! I’m from uk and have no idea where to start as we rotate the same 5 dishes since the Middle Ages! I’m trying to learn more skills how to use the bits I normally throw and how to use leftovers! God bless
Wow, this looks gorgeous. I'm in Northern Ireland and I've never tried frying my own chicken before, but I feel like I've just had a demonstration from a professor in fried chickenology so I'm going to give it a go! Love your accent, too, looking forward to watching your other videos. :)
Always trust chefs with a SOUTHERN musicality in their voices. A beautiful belief ... which I'll immediately adopt! Thank you for your wonderful videos.
That fried chicken looks amazing! I've tried and failed at frying chicken many times and I finally gave up. With this recipe and your directions, I might have to give it one more try! Thanks Tom!
OldManCooking Awesome recipe Tom! Love the color of them chickens. Looks crispy and delicious.I tried to do my own yesterday (different buttermilk recipe). Do I really need to use clean oil when I make them? Cause mine looked a lil burnt when its done ( fry for about 12 mins ). I used a dutch oven pot and fry when the oil is at 350. Sorry for the long comment, just need some tips. Would appreciate if you could help.
Tom, you showed how this crispy chicken is easy enough for anyone to make. Wow, it looks mouthwateringly delicious! This could put KFC out of business! Kudos to you for a great recipe!
Juanelo1946 Thanks John.... On this one I am just showing how to do it.. My Momma made this for me when I was a kid.. Probably why I should too be on a low carb diet.. :)
Beautiful looking chicken. I'm fairly certain this is how my mother made fried chicken. Grew up in the South and this is southern cooking at its best. :)
I've watched so many recipes for this I'm going crazy!!!! FINALLY!!!!!! I watched yours, YOUR A WINNER!!!!!! Can't wait to make this!!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!!!
I found your recipe yesterday, and we made the chicken for dinner last night, along with corn on the cob, parmesan mashed potatoes and seared brussels sprouts. Delicious! I'm looking through your channel right now for tonight's dinner.
There are lots of video/recipes out there but I like yours. I am trying it today for the first time. Less the hot source just in case my small girl balks..nice presentation.
I love what soaking your chicken in buttermilk does to fried chicken. My Grandma taught me to do that when I was really little and it is definitely the secret to a good piece of fried chicken :) Great recipe!
***** The enzymes in the buttermilk tenderize the chicken, it also adds flavor - it basically works as a simple marinade that makes the chicken more moist and tender :)
mmmm...that's enough to make me wanna fry some buttermilk chicken for dinner tonight! man, that sure looked good in the end, when it was done! It made my mouth water!
I've been making my fried chicken pretty much the very same way for many years. However, I use shortening or lard and cook in a cast iron dutch oven. It's best to let your chicken coating set up into a batter for at least 5-10 minutes befroe putting it into the oil. I find this makes for an excellent crispy fried chicken. Now I'm craving fried chicken...hit with some Frank's hot sauce after frying...Oh Yeah!
Made this last night and it was a success!!! My fiance isn't really a meat person(he's starting not to enjoy it anymore) but he Loved this meal Thanks for this video and all your videos :)
