Added functionality is nice, but not a fan of the huge housing around it. I would have preferred more of a "tablet" appearance with a flat blanking plate over the dash behind it.

The original ford system was pretty ugly…. But this aftermarket system takes ugly to a whole new level.

These android head units are great, but you do have to remember a little security with them. One thing, if your car is ever stolen, whatever Google account is setup on them is fully exposed as there are no locks. So have a think about security and stuff like that with them. I would make sure to use a different Google account to your main one as if someone gets access, they would have your gmail, contacts and everything on yout Google account. Other than that, they are great little units and a great upgrade. Have to admit, this one is not the prettiest install. It is relatively ugly. If you are using Carplay or Android auto and none of the options in the unit, I'd suggest looking at an add on screen that only does carplay, as these are usually a lot cheaper than a full android head unit.

It looks a bit cheap and flimsy. Not bright enough screen. And looks laggy and buggy. But thank you for making this tutorial. It's very informative.

When I realized that there was no product with a good design, but only things that made my central part of the dashboard look like a TV with a CRT screen I left it alone, there are only things that make everything very square and protruding and really clash with the design of the interior and the car in general. Surely this thing makes the car more modern but certainly not more beautiful.

I hate my fiesta too but I love it because it's mine and paid off and no one expect assholes who wreck it can take it from me cause I'm gonna drive it till the wheels fall off

Serious question: is that actually an MOT fail? As you can see from sat in the drivers seat how sticking up so far from the dash it will create blind spots on the N/S corner. I struggle to see how it would be road legal assuming dash cams/air fresheners and any other non standard detritus is a technical fail.

Physical switches and knobs for the win. There is a reason the US Navy is switching away from touch screens.

Looks great, but the problem i see is that its android 10 and we are already on 13 and after a few years it will be too old to run the apps, had this problem with a phone recently, also can the sat nav be updated? or is it not updatable, that is another issue, wouldn't want to pay all that money for something that will be unusable after a few years. They need to bring out software updates, until then i will keep my old unit.

It’s clever but it’s far too big and distracting. Imagine the number of people who would be distracted with that. I’ve recent,y ditched a touch screen double DIN for one with buttons. All I need it to do is play via Bluetooth, DAB and less distractions

The only issue with this, is : most Fiesta drivers sit with their seat in the lowest position, and the seat squab angled back at a 45 degree angle (I'm a race car driver style). They won't be able to see out of the windscreen with that thing in the way. On second thoughts, most of them don't look anyway, carry on .....

I'm sorry but that wasn't an upgrade. That isn't better. Replace all the simple buttons that just work, and can be used without taking your eyes off the road thanks to muscle memory, tactile feel and feedback (you know you've got the right button cos of the shape, position and know you've turned it on because it actually depresses or clicks when you press it, unlike a touchscreen) with a huge touchscreen. Now you have no idea where the "buttons" are, need to look at the screen to see the changes are made (again because of lack of tactile feedback) and if you're actually touching the right part in the first place since you can no longer rely on muscle memory and positional memory. And it's inevitably going to stop working at some point because the screen will fail or the software will be out of date and need updating (and risking getting a bug or losing features as a result, or having the layout and design change which is _not_ a good thing). If you can even get an update - a lot of these types the company stops supporting older touchscreen systems without warning (or barely any). And that will be _far_ more expensive to fix than some simple push buttons. Sorry but screens _aren't_ an upgrade over tactile switches and buttons and this trend needs to die. Just get a satnav or use a phone and stick it to the dash/window with a mount. Far cheaper, far easier to use, can be angled for better driver viewing/seating position. And you can still play all your own tunes by using aux cord or bluetooth or USB connection.

If I was you mate, I would of disconnect the battery before messing with all that 👍🏻 end up getting a nasty shock 🫨⚡️

How much did it all cost bearing in mind its only a fiesta

It's not as easy dropping in an aftermarket dual din head unit into my Mk7 Fiesta, the biggest problem I faced was obtaining the right facia plates and interface module for the steering wheel controls, And to keeping the original vehicle settings menu functionality, in order to still access the interior accent lighting menu and mirror fold controls. I thought about installing one of these cheaper vertically orientated android units, but ended up settling for a premium DAB HDMI Sony unit. Thanks for sharing.

Hi i brought on couple of days ago told them what year and model my car and its 2009 ford fiesta they have given wiring loom for a 2013-14 wiring loom i have emailed them they have sent me a bill for the loom what should cost me £10 they said bur pressed the link for the payment but bill is £44 so this is getting annoying

Set security on the device if you are going to sync any personal emails and data in case your car gets stolen, stops the thief getting access to your personal emails, set a passcode at start up, if you find that a hassle then don't log into anything

Haven’t seen the Mr2 in a while and that charcoal gray color is so much sexier than the candy burgundy(which also looked incredible). I’m guessing you’ll be getting mistaken for a Porsche all the time now, lol.

and if you cant use climate, try to change a canbus settings, sometimes it helps. here in our russian youtube version there is about Raizer canbus when changing car settings its helps someone. or if you cant change, maybe can bus only gets can requests. in my case i got only one can channel I-CAN or MM-CAN, but in newer there is two can chanels which goes to sync system I-CAN and HS-CAN in sync 2-3 there is 3 can channels i-can or mm-can, then hs-can (main can) and ms-can for not so important parts

You should not need to run Full Fat android for a car's infotainment. Its too much and unnecessary. Also waiting for it to boot so you can get your music playing before you drive off takes stupidly long.

Cable management would drive me insane with them rattling about behind the dash, cable ties would have came in handy. Overall if your looking to upgrade an older vehicle to a newer looking Android/Apple interface i guess its an improvement but i'd rather put the car in and upgrade the car with newer tech already included. My 2023 Grandland X boasts a fully digital screen and its good but the satnav part looks smaller than the older version even though it states its bigger its just more wasted space around the edges of the screen.

Turn your heater on high and roll up the windows for 30 minutes before removing any interior pieces. You might save yourself a broken clip.

I have a 2015 mk 7.5 Fiesta and I purchased this kit hoover was left disappointed that I got the wrong loom and wrong decoder. The loom and decoder was for the 2009 to 2014 Fiestas. The 2015+ radios have an extra plug and there's not a socket for the extra plug on the loom. Thankfully they said they have the correct loom and decoder for the 2015+ models, as at the moment I can't integrate the steering wheel buttons and also the sound quality is terrible as the equaliser and amp and split over two sockets

Can't believe theres a lot of comments saying the original dash looks great. Its butt ugly and intuitive. I love the size of the screen he put in and the moldings actually make it look natural. Theres a Fiesta for sale that I might like to buy but i would not be able to suffer with the original.

You can just get a normal Android radio with the same functionality. I'd be ashamed of having that monstrosity on my dashboard. It's like having an old CRT TV in your car.

You seem to have 3 marks on the top left of the console? Looks like a small crack. Would not do for me as the unit seems to be so high and would be a hazard when turning left.
