Yeah, sometimes that shit just doesn't exist. I think it safe to assume you'll know some of this, but My advice, take it apart very, very slowly, watch very carefully, and look for rough edges that appear ground down, or cracks. Take some alcohol and wipe down the gears to get all the old grease off, Get some new grease, or, if you can't do that, regular Vaseline, and apply it to all the gears. Too much line can make some reels stop working all together, but at best will make them work poorly, if it's only casting 15 feet, take 20-30ft of line off, and see if it gets better
