Born in Glasgow in the 1950's but now living in Edinburgh. This took me back and filled my heart with pride and joy, especially thinking of all the older generations who have now left us.
Well that was great. I am a Glesga man born and bred - love this city - though looking at the auld days makes me feel a wee bit sad - though very proud. Thanks for posting....
Far too late for that sentiment, there is not a solitary scheme, social housing project call it what you will that you could view these days, that would give anyone hope, apart from specific areas , it was an embarrassing shithole way back in the 50s, and apart from a pitiful attempt to beautify the riverside, is still a shithole some nearly 70 years later
Michael McCarter You obviosly don't know what your talking about. Like all cities including Edinburgh it has its shit holes. The Bruce report flattened some beautiful buildings that kust needed renovated. The Bruce project was a failure. They did not finish what they started and left Glasgow disjointed. I'm guessing your not Scottish and only come to Glasgow to visit the shit hole football parks/areas.
Lovely video, I got most of the views but thought Dumbarton/Byres Road/Qn Margaret Drive could have been in there (unless I missed it) and great song by the Proclaimers. Thanks for posting!
