It also had a GameBoy Advance (I believe it was Advance? - if not, then Color) version. And it was YET ANOTHER entirely different experience - turn based, to begin with. I had the PC version that I hated and stopped at broomstick because nope (I'm very bad at things like that, and it was even worse back then). But the GameBoy version? Oh god it was brilliant. I played it soo many times. Not to mention, XP and other things carry on between playthroughs, if you complete the game, so you can be pretty OP after 8 or 9 playthroughs (the amount I did). EDIT: well, it had BOTH a Color and an Advance version, and they are BOTH entirely different too... This is crazy! And I was talking about the Color version, actually. Advance seems weird too.

The PS2 one annoys me so much, mainly because it is just a clone of the PS2 Chamber of Secrets (it came out after). Same for the PS1 version of the Chamber of Secrets, just a copy of this one, the first of many joint releases spanning different console generations 😂 just no effort whatsoever was made, even had the same Hagrid abandoning Harry in Diagon Alley in both the PS1 games and the annoying sneaking parts in the PS2 ones

That's what happens in the game lol, it's not a glitch. I just 100%ed the game yesterday and it does that. It's to show that Voldemort is still alive and the story doesn't end there. They were already working on the sequel too, a more detailed game using most of the same assets and models.

I don't think Rowling was involved with the game that much expect for the distribution of the rights to the game.

I played and beat this game when I was like 10. I barely remember any of it though, so I wish he'd finished it. The only way I know it's the same game is because of the minigames, the health bar, the pause menu, the jumping, and the knockback jinx. I've forgotten everything else. I remember the smell of the room when I played it though, for some reason... I feel like it was on Christmas at my grandma's.

Considering you can beat the game in a day with ease, Caddy playing an hour is in no way surprising. Him doing the bare minimum is what I'd expect by this point in his career

@@twofacetoo75 some games are really easy to beat. I remember beating Cars on GameCube in around 7 or 8 hours.

Taloscal haha. Right? The soundtrack is still super memorable for me as well. And spending time just running around casting Alahamora on portraits hoping to find a secret room.

Order of Phoenix was quite good but not as bizzare as first three.

That game is a nostalgia bomb for me. I remember just combing the walls of every room and cave for secret doors. (Though some of the Glitches with the levitation blocks were annoying)

I also liked the GB games of the first 3 which played like a Final Fantasy game.

Those scenes were shot twice. Only Harry, Ron, and Hermione say "Sorcerer's" and "Philosopher's" in the US and UK release, respectively. All the other characters refer to it as "The Stone" to make it more convenient for the filmmakers.

I still wouldn't dismiss the Ps1 version. Aside from the graphics and voice acting, I still have very fond memories of this game, many of the enemies you encounter would be terrifying to many kids (The knights, the trolls, Peeves, Fluffy, the Devil's Snare, the entire chess section and Voldy) and the lighting and soundtrack really set apart the different stages and their tones: The main castle feels welcoming and homey, the outdoors free and relaxing, the dungeons dark and gloomy, the upper castle noble and towering, Diagon Alley charming and interesting, Gringotts organized and punctual (the time based challenges really reflect that business theme there), the forbidden forest is downright haunting and the final sections with the challenges that lead deeper and deeper into the castle really feel like a legitimate build up to the final boss. Many people say PC is better, but I will ALWAYS recommend good ol' Ps1.

I actually found the PC version to be so intimidating that I couldn't even get past the second level. I don't really know what it was, but I just found the game to be eerie and threatening right from the very first moment of gameplay.
