Great review. 3$ it's a great deal, I bought the same one for 29$ in ex-USSR country.

This video is useful. I get this lens for a few euro (when euro did not exist, and digital too) with Zeiss Flektogon 20/2.8, Sonnar 180/2.8. I have modern lenses for Canon digital EOS 1D, but often use this vintage lenses and it are still great

It is either a joke or you should extend my congratulations to the idiot who sold you one of the best Russian 50mm lenses with macro possibilities (1 to 2,8 or inverted 1 to 1) for 3$ (unless its conditions were scrap metal or with heavy fungus and balsam separation). Average price today 2500-3000 rubles (30-40$). Actually mine was bought for 60 rubles (5 rubles discount from the official price of LZOS). At the current exchange rate that is equivalent to 80¢, but at the end of 1990 it was officially something like 60$ (or according to the unofficial black market exchange rate, about 20$) and still in the same mint conditions with its original holder and warramty certificate. MS (in cyrillic C = S) means multicoating. MC are not the initials of Multi Coating but they come from многослойное просветление (многослойное translates to multilayer) All Industar 61 L/Z have a 6-blades star shaped diaphragm. Other Industar 61 variations (M or Z or L or L/D), most of them produced in Kharkov and some in Lytkarino, with 6 or 5 blades, don't. Push down the diaphragm ring and rotate it. Start from f/16 and go towards f/2.8. When you are slightly past the diaphragm you need,, slowly decrease the pressure on the ring and apply a very slight jiggle movement to engage correctly the lock position (you can hear it click in place) for a preset operation of the diaphragm (unclicked from f/2.8 to the chosen maximum aperture). Focus at the maximum aperture, stop down to the preset aperture, take your picture. Good luck with your hunt!
