@@larshaukenfrersIf you look closely he has to unscrew the button to push it in. That keeps it from accidently deploying the flame. So kool but seems like it would get annoying.
The american one. Love its simplicity and yet reliability. Pretty enough for fancy bankers and tough enough for the iron workers. An everyman lighter. Edit: USA! USA!USA SCREAMING EAGLES🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I adore the lil french guy, but i am so happy i found this channel, because i have been looking for this kind of content like my whole life, for real. The engineering of different lighters has always fascinated me but i could never find anyone else who ever had an interest.🎉 They are all really cool lighters .
Btw the Austrian lighter has the word “Wien” on it which is the native spelling for Vienna, Austria’s capital. The Ferris wheel is one of the icons of the city and it’s the oldest still functioning Ferris wheel in the world.
France or Austria, definitely. I like how simply elegant the french one is, but I enjoy the big mechanism on the Austrian that's used to light it, and the fact that you can pull that section out, maybe to reach into smaller/deeper spaces
I feel like you live for that moment when it's someone's birthday and it's cake time and the guy lighting the candles goes "does anyone have a light?" 😂
I NEED HELP! I’m looking to start a collection of not particularly nice or big name brand lighters. So today I bought three old zippo style lighters for pretty cheap. And I just need to know where to start, I’m going to re pack them and replace the wick. But I’m having trouble getting the wheel to spin on one of the three. What should I do to diagnose/fix it??
I love this channel because it doesn't resort to that TikTok AI voice, I like hearing peoples voices, especially when they're explaining things they love
WTH Its Switzerland. Not only its beautiful but it was made by THORENS!?!? A turntable manufacturer!?!? They made effing lighters before the Turntables??? Or they manufactured them together???
Started collecting Zippos about 30 years ago, affordable ones .....then picked up a few novelty lighters.... thought I had too many (maaaaybe 150), then I came across this guy. 😲
"The Austrian candidate, it's more than just a funny face." Großartig, Riesend komisch!!! Brings to mind a common German refrain, Hitler was Austrian, Mozart was German.
The German one has multiple sensors installed in many places to tell you when to take it to a dealer to have it serviced for about a thousand Euros minimum.
Wow the firefly really won me over, simple, rugged, and beautiful. Didn’t expect anything to beat the first three (i’m partial to rollers) but that lighter is just beautiful. About to start shopping around for one
I am conflicted between the German one and the one from Switzerland. Cause I am a huge fan of the safety from the Switzerland. However that satisfying click from the German one is so darn good.
I have one of those Austrian lighters! It's got an engraved design and functions identically to the one you have here! I'd love any help identifying it if by some chance you see and respond to this comment, it's okay if not (I'm Canadian, sorry for bothering you eh?) wonderful videos!
I know your probably going to hate me for this, but when it comes to functionality, the plastic bic lighter reigns Supreme. Just one motion, and you have a flame that you can shut off simply by letting go. They are have absolutely zero elegance though. When it comes to elegance, I choose the swiss one.
Swiss would be a nice fancy piece for going out,American is the most practical seeming and Germany I think had the smoothest action while the top right looks like it would jam regularly
They are all georgeous. But the american and french are a little less so than the others. In my opinion of course. After looping a couple of times, the english and german lighters stand a tiny bit above the others for me. But they are all sooo sweet.
