Do you know some morbid irony? The 2nd guy who got shot probably would have survived if the ambulance got there on time but it didn't because the protestors blocked the road.
I like how RU-vid doesn't want to censor this video for making light of murder, but rather want to add "context" to the video and make sure we know climate change is super bad.
YT understands that even a small reduction in the carbon footprint is laudable...and apparently they're not the least bit choosy about how it is realized.
This guy isn't a hero. He's a murderer. The protest was that of a mine that endangers local waters, not a climate protest. Being upset doesn't justify murder.
You know what, i agree with statement (its like: "you can't have freedom without discipline, thats anarchy or discipline without freedom, then thats tyranny").
Be honest. You don't want to have a giant fan meet range day because the NSA is going to wonder why an army has rallied around a political candidate 🤣🦅
You spelled "FBI" wrong. (NSA does not do "in-person" stuff, they do technical collection and electronic surveillance, neither of which would have much to do with a range day).
@@jsquared1013 They would be the first to be aware of it I feel like. I know the Pennsic war group gets picked up every year on sat tracking, simply because of the amount of armed people in coordination (even if the arms are swords)
Let me just add that the "protestors" were committing all of these crimes : Blocking road - Self-explanatory. Eco-terrorism - Provocation that can only be stopped with violence (pushing or carrying them away can be assault). False imprisonment - Not letting people through, and they're stuck in a traffic congestion. Kidnapping - This could go on for days and the people there will have no resources to survive. What the old man did was wrong and not justifiable, but it's COMPLETELY understandable.
This does not qualify as a kidnapping at all. Think before you talk. It's neither justifiable nor understandable. You can critize them all you want, I am not a fan of gluing yourself to the road either but literally killing 2 people over it is not understandable.
“In the name of anti climate change, I am gonna trash this extremely expensive and beautiful painting and then cement myself on the highway to stop traffic 🤠”
"Eventually, some of these are going to go very wrong. You stop a man who just lost house and kids after his wife cheated on him, or someone on the way to the hospital to visit a dying loved one, someone who just lost their job, is 3 mortgage payments behind on their way to a job interview... Eventually, this is going to get real messy" This is the basic comment I have left on dozens of Instagram videos of protesters blocking roadways. It doesn't matter how right, wrong or justifiable it is, it's just a matter of time before it gets real messy ! This is messy, but a truck driver having a bad day, might just mow down innocent people waiting in line as well as the protesters. Stopping 80,000 lbs could get real messy.
@@Anoneemus_Noenayme I can imagine this going very wrong for the protesters ... however, the man in this situation would have more reason to avoid prison time. If you're just having a kid you likely aren't suicidal and you have something to lose.
Why would that be obvious? I'd expect him to be a military nut like I was if I'd had to guess. I could list the complete specs of multiple modern and WWII military aircraft by the time I was in third grade. Accurate enough, someone give that man a sandwich and a beer. Get him out. He's a real patriot standing up to oppressors. It is illegal to to violate our 4th by blocking the roads. In that event, they are taking our right to be secure in our vehicle for absolutely zero normal traffic related reasons. And if the gov isn't allowed to do that, you sure aren't!
Fun fact: that scene from Indiana Jones was scripted to be a long drawn out fight with swords, but Ford was extremely sick with a high fever and didn't have the time to wait for reshoot. So we got that masterpiece of a scene instead.
I've always loved that factoid. Thank fuck that stuntman had the presence of mind to react properly to Ford's improv. This was so much better than the sword vs whip thing would have been.
As a person who wants more to be done about climate change, the protesters here piss me off because it makes the rest of us look bad. It's like the people who don't practice proper gun safety; they make the rest of the GOOD gun owners look like idiots or killers. This site just needs to stop. PERIOD.
I don't think most of these people really believe in what they're fighting for. It seems more like they're paid to do it and just use the guise of "climate protesters" to someone political advantage. I think they're purpose can be either to make people hate climate change activists to hurt that cause in general, or possibly a smaller political goal like maybe from someone who didn't want that specific mine opening up so they can open it up next year or something like that. Indont have any proof for what I'm saying nor do I really care one way or another but as a casual observer both of these seem more likely to me than those people actually doing what they do to fight climate change. Alot of them are probably just useful idiots but I wouldn't be surprised if some where paid to get things started for a somewhat unrelated reason
Many good things have been achieved because of protest. Don't gun supporters protest when second amendment is threatened? The act is no different, just the cause.
@@darrenfalconer3267 I did not mean to demonize protests in general. You're right that they can do a lot of good. I meant to say that these protesters who were blocking traffic didn't do the cause any favors. Sorry if I didn't make my point clear.

Reminds me of the awful couple that the entire neighborhood hated, when the guy who just lost his wife to cancer was tired of their shit. "Shoulda kept your fucking mouth shut." If they knew of the protest they would most definetely have you guys take an alternate route. I think regardless if you do that even if they appear suddenly you will get in trouble simply because the govt would rather jail you to save face.
Please google this before writing. What the trade unions are protesting about is the fact that somehow the Panama government gave the contract to run the mine to a Canadian company at a quarter of the market rate. Also when it's illegal to give contracts to foreign companies. Panama is basically bankrupt and the government members have been bribed to allow a Canadian company to steal up to 10 billion dollars.
Sounds like the entire country was basically against it, and the government went "nah" and ignored democracy. It's not necessarily about strip mining, but bribery and exploitations of resources.
It's almost like they weren't climate protestors Because they weren't. They were protesting the government signing a contract with a foreign mining company, one that would be detrimental to local workers and the local ecology.

It's not that easy to remove burning debris from a road. This wasn't a climate demo it was a demo against the massive corruption carried out by the panama government. The construction workers union and teachers union are running the protests. When he first arrived there were only women at the protest and he shouted he would only speak to a man. They got two local men out of a surrounding house. They tried to argue with him and he shot them. Unfortunately hand guns are illegal to have in Panama so they weren't able to defend themselves (from his illegal gun) if they were then I suspect Panama would have a new government by now and this guy wouldn't have tried this.
Who the fuck cares what they said? Even when taunted or whatever other BS you may think of, that SOB killed two people in cold blood! I don't care that he threatened deadly force against people fighting a corrupt government selling drilling rights to a foreign power, he is wrong.
Great shout out for Jurassic Park novel. "Metal as hell!" It is way more dark than the movie. The opening scene has a little girl feeding the little dinos, and getting eaten. It is a great book.

I am from Panama. I just want to clarify something. It was not about climate, at leat not all of it, it was mainly about corruption. People had national flags and were chanting slogans anti the current government (wich is the same center left party that ruled us during the millitary dictatorship in the 80s) The thing is, not only the treaty that the whores that we have as a government signed with the mining company was very unconstitutional, it was also a terrible deal for the country and we were and still are not having it. I don't know why this story got told in america from this stupid perspective where it was about just climate.

The protests here in Panama are not really due to climate. Is due to the contract with the mining operation. The mining company seemingly bought a bunch of politicians to sign the contract that does not benefits the country, is a one sided contract that has almost no benefits to the country and also allows the company to grab any land sorrounding the mining operation.

Hey guys panamenian here, its not just climate protestors, matter of fact its not even the main reason the protest are going on, its because the contract with the mine owner (minera Panamá which is owned by a Canadian mining conglomerate) is really sketchy bordering unconstitutional and only benefits the mine and the corrupt politicians who get a cut of it. Old man status : He lived long enough He's tired of all these shit He becomes a hero for those who are tired after all these counter-productive actions
Let me get something straight. The climate activists breaking shit, throwing paint and food cans and vandalizing shit to get attention are in the wrong in their actions. If anything, I wouldn't be surprised if their groups are backed by big oil because what they're doing is doing the complete opposite of garnering support for climate activism. It's taking away any credibility the movement has and painting every protester as a can-throwing mongoloid. But killing two people over a roadblock is morally unjustified. No matter how much you hate climate protesters, it doesn't change the fact that in this situation there was no threat on Kenneth's life. By definition this was a nonviolent protest, albeit an annoying one, but I don't agree with indiscriminately murdering people over shit you don't like because that's how we devolve into animals. The fact people are making light of this situation and cheering on a deranged 70 year old who shot two people in cold blood because of a roadblock speaks volumes about contemporary barbarism. "It's okay because it's funny" until somebody shoots and kills someone you know over nothing and suddenly it's a horrible tragedy. Delusional, detached man children hiding behind a screen are the only kinds of people I can imagine laughing at this.
I mean, what else do they expect to happen, when the law enforcement and other eligible bodies REFUSE to do anything about the situation? All that is left is for the effected individuals to take matters into their own hands.

Fun fact: the ambulances were not let through because the police were using them to breach the blockades. When people got wind of this, they started blocking their way too. Also, Darlington was a university professor, and the people he killed were also teachers, so he ended up killing his coworkers. Also, they were not climate activists. Pretty much the whole country was protesting against the mine. If you actually took the time to do some research, you would find out that the situation is a whole more complicated than "Bad climate activists block the road". This was a historical moment for the country. Also, the mine was absolutely responsible for a lot of death and disease that has been happening since its opening. In that region, Donoso and some other areas from Coclé, the index of births with congenital disease has skyrocketed. The index of people with kidney problems has also skyrocketed. If you go into Google Maps, and look at the place, it is as big as the nearest biggest city. You can also see that the river they use to dump their chemicals is of a whole different color, and it obviously ends up at sea, despite the area being designated a protected area for biodiversity. I hate climate activists that do stupid shit like trying to fuck up the Mona Lisa, or commit vandalism, just as the next door person would, but this was different. We even had infiltrated operators from other countries trying to incite the chaos in order to reach a coup. This was, again, a very complex situation.

I’m not that familiar with this case but. Brandon already stated you can’t shoot people just because you don’t like them especially unarmed civilians. And yes I also agree the US Government as well as other governments like China. Have a Long History of turning a blind eye to private companies illegally dumping chemicals and destroying the environment. They also incite violence against these types of protesters and it wouldn’t be a shock to see members of the CIA in bed with the Corporations. Calling for Violence against the protesters or paying homeless people to commit acts of violence at a peaceful protest to Discredit Legitimate protesters. Finally the CIA also has used MK Ultra to create an army of people who will follow any instructions to the letter and not remember what they have done afterwards. However again if you’re going to make such a claim you need to provide the proof to back it up. and as you can tell I do support some level of environmental protests. I don’t want the Government cutting down forests to house illegal immigrants who can’t speak English and compete for Jobs and lower the wages of everyone else as well as contribute to higher taxes higher prices on goods and crime. Nor do I agree with the idiots destroying priceless works of art to promote global warming which many will argue is fake environmentalism as it is promoted. By the same people who turn a blind eye to pollution in countries like Mexico and India. However again while I agree what you’re saying is definitely possible and it wouldn’t be the first time they’ve done stuff like this. some of the things you provided as proof could just be coincidence’s. I’ll give you some advice if you really want proof look up the CEO of the Company in Question and find out who is Funding them. Many people who fund these Corrupt companies use a Variety of tricks to protect their identity but some don’t because they don’t care if people know who they are. and even if they fund it discreetly they often do a bad job hiding their identity for example using a company that’s publicly listed as a company owned by said billionaire to fund a corrupt mining company in Africa or Mexico. In those cases it’s easy to find out who owns said company.
