The f4 trick is in bad faith, that wad a debug feature that accidentally was left in one alpha release. It was patched out as soon as the community found it.

true tho, i started the summer before microsoft took over the game, and ever since that happened, i haven't seen any major game changes. besides for 1.16 and 17, the warden is completely optional. mining for diamonds is also optional, so 1.17 can actually be out of the picture. and we haven't had another update like 1.16 in almost four whole years.

Not every new update is better. But the game now it's much better than is was before. If you remove the kilometers thick nostalgia layer out of old Minecraft, you'll get a barebone game with fewer blocks and mob diversity and worse terrain generation. And I played this game since 2012 btw.

Ikr. The old minecraft fog made it more mysterious and so did the overhanging mountains. And dark areas were darker, like the caves. Which is actually more realistic than new minecraft because even if turn your brightness all the way down you don’t have to place torches cause you can still see, which isn’t as realistic as Old Minecraft.

Though to be fair, most Gen Z users probably weren't playing Java in those days (because PCs aren't cheap). @@skeleton819agree, minecraft content back then was much more relaxing and slower-paced nowdays it's just these loud, over-edited, clickbaity videos with megabases, gazillion item per hour farms and it's all about rushing the best items and gear in the game megabases don't even feel that impressive anymore, back in older versions they actually were cooler, because the game was much more slower-paced and mojang's "one block at the time" actually meant something back then it was about enjoying the game and entertaining viewers, not about making money or trying to get the most views

The only kind of valid point here is the mobs attacking you in creative mode one, but only if its a creeper. Say what you want about old Minecraft but it will always reign supreme in its ability to actually run the game on the vanilla client

The being able to summon portal with one key was cool, and the wolves killing you in peaceful adds a fun challenge (you forgot placing ice in old nether to put water in nether)

Modern minecraft, at least for me probably sucks more. The game nowadays feels more corporate and toxic. The old minecraft was MUCH more passionate and fun, not to mention it had charm. Old minecraft was definitely better

Most of things he listed in here are EXTREMELY over simplified, for example the thing we’re pressing f4 spawned a portal was only in a UNRELEASED developer build.
