That's exactly how I got knocked off my 125, but I was the foolish rider who assumed the van would give way to me without checking he'd stopped! Luckily I wasn't hurt, the bike just bent back in place and they guy settled for damages without going through insurance!

The problem is mate, if they done car tests based on competence then there would be a lot of people removed from the road which they would believe is unfairly because they think it is their right to use it. Well it is our right to be safe on it. Will never change though. I just try to expect it. I didn't even shout at the two idiots in Kent yesterday that tried to kill me. Ride safe

I've seen a fair few police program's where they stopped old folks driving the wrong way down a motorway. Pisses me off when the police have a little laugh about it because the person's elderly. Retest at 70 and then 80.

As an "oldie" myself I feel obliged to comment. I rode several motorbikes in the sixties when there was a lot less traffic about. The problem you had with the stupid old fart was in evidence even back then, but not necessarily with people of advancing years. I was of the opinion then,and still am to a certain extent , that people who pass their test in cars don't think of bikes at all when approaching junctions etc. They seem to have no idea of the hazards that you and other bikers face on a day to day basis. The "THINK BIKE" posters on lampposts help to a certain extent, but it should be emphasised more in driving lessons.Sorry to rant on a bit,love your vids,ride safe!

I had the exact same scenario happen last week, except it was a copper! We both emergency braked, I stuck my hands out as If to say "what the hell dude?" He waved and sped off. It wound me up, the fact he didn't even look as he pulled into my path on the roundabout. But what can ye do eh!

2 ton mobilty scooters, most haul themselves into the car in the morning to drive at ten miles an hour for the paper, then once or twice a week after ten till about three they cause havoc driving to the supermarket, maybe spot lunch and a not so quick jaunt back home before school traffic builds up. Insurance companies charge more for folks who drive in the daytime as the risk is higher. ps… watch it after 3 mad wound up mothers n fathers in a frenzy….
