With age, the Good Father became so much more refined and mellow so to speak. Just like a fine wine, with time it becomes perfect and so much better than the day it as bottled. Sheen in his early days was a firestorm of devotion. Steely eyed and a ferocious warrior against sin! He was a teacher beyond all else, a shepherd that saw his flock as being any one that would hear his determined voice. We are so blessed to not only hear but see the Venerable Fulton Sheen. God bless us all with good hearing and void of ego.
I came across this man a while back, I don't know how or why I chose to listen to him. I'm a 44yearoldman with family and all that goes with that. I can't explain in words the tremendous love I feel towards him accompanied by what can only be described as spiritual pain relief from listening to his words.Thank you Bishop Sheen ,thank you from the bottom of my heart and please please pray for me and my family .
Brendan Ryan Brendan, Bishop Sheen was a force unto himself back in the day. My Mother taught me from a very young age to listen to Sheen as she did growing up. She said his messages might seem apparent but they are not as they seem. I’ve come to listen very carefully to his message and meditate on its meaning. I know now why my Mother raised me and 4 brothers to listen to Bishop Sheen. She passed very unexpectedly in Feb. at the age of 84. Since then I have been completely lost, suicidal, miserable and crippled with grief. I don’t know what to do and I feel my life is over. I was my Mother’s keeper and full time aide for over 30 years. When she took her last breath, I was not there I was at home between visits to the hospital. My psychiatrist has led me to believe that she passed while she was alone to spare us any undo drama and to witness the violence of the medical staff performing CPR on her. This suggestion is the only thing keeping me above water. After this sermon I have more to think about, and I will. Mom kept Bishop Sheen in our minds so that we would have a place to turn and look for answers when this happened. At any rate, take care of yourself and your family and May God Bless!
@@RealPeterGunn The loss of a parent is a huge blow no matter what age they are . I've been caring for both my elderly parents, particularly my dad ,along with my sister for the past five years .I would say we were never particularly close on an emotional level . But accepting the situation and working with God's plan for both myself and my parents has brought about a huge transformation in all of us and for the better . Having to undress ,toilet ,wash and put a parent to bed initially seemed like a punishment but has actually turned out to be a blessing and a treasure from God when I conformed my will to his. I kiss my father on the forehead every night before I leave and ask him to pray for me .I had never kissed or hugged him before ever. God loves our parents and knows them much better than we ever will . God has a plan for your life . Trust in him . Lets live our lives seeking to unite our will with his .We will be all reunited in heaven God willing. No one knows loss better than Mary and Jesus . Our lady will cover you with her mantle , she will mother you more profoundly than any woman who ever lived .I will raise you and your mother up to night in our family rosary . God bless you .
Brendan Ryan Thank you Brendan. From my soul I thank you! I don’t know how I can continue to cry, it just comes out of no where and over takes my mind and body. Through this entire horror I have not wavered my love for God. I can’t thank you enough for your prayers. God Bless you and your parents and sister. I know exactly what you are doing with your Father and I trust he will remember your kindness when he departs.
Y E s, & I loved it, when I'd hear, my Mom & Dad, listen to Venerable, Fulton Sheen, on the radio. He just sounded so loving, caring, & True! I was just a kid, great impression!
Archbishop Sheen had such a warmth about him!! He spoke to all people for the betterment of all people!! My aunt was a Lutheran and would never miss a broadcast never!! I pray for the day he is declared a saint. In my eyes he was and is a saint!! Venerable Fulton Sheen pray for us.
Funny how God is. Ive seen this man my whole life. Ive never actually paid attention or listened. I needed this message today. TODAY. I I dont know if i would be paying this close attention if i wasnt randomly extremely curious. Wow he got through to me. Thats not easy. I'm an old pot for sure.
I have been blessed to come upon this. I am convinced he received Grace for this talk ! What he says is so true, exactly as happened to me : about the ego, about the emptying, an accurate definition of Grace - the more trials and tribulations, the more Grace is poured in ! , about the awakening of the Woman at the Well whom 5 men had failed.
great speaker....great orator...a vessel of God to touch and bless others...to God be the glory....may God bless everyone who hears Bishop Sheen's talks...Amen....
Love the important details he brings out to add much understanding to events...shows much preparation to deliver a satisfying, nourishing message. Thank you Jesus
Just finished by Thursday luminous mysteries and felt compelled to listen to this. Change is from God and he will mold us. Sometimes its pretty painful....probably most of the time: if we are honest. God doesn't say to be afraid yet to let him handle things. Especially things that are far from our control. God bless you all. Today. Tomorrow, and into eternal life.
Oh my God what a outstanding preacher.HIs charisma to draw anyone to listen to his talk I love. BISHOP Fulton zj.SHeen .I read ma y of his books.IT shows. The depth of his spiritual genius. .

Just heard Venerable Fulton Sheem's sermon on'Old Pots'. Unbelievably good. Brilliant, just wonderful. How He connects incidences in the Bible with the subject of his sermon. The man was a remarkable theologian genius. May his soul rest in peace.
Me too V Will ! I’m not Catholic but Bishop Sheen is my favorite preacher and was definately filled with the Holy Spirit. If you ever get depressed watch his talk “The Anatomy of Melencholy”. Instant cure ! God Bless
Thank you God Papa Jesus my Lord and the HolySpirit for this awesome blessing reflections by Rev Bishop Fulton J.Sheen. I feel so enriched and moved to tears hearing about me being a pot but God fills the treasure according to the emptiness and the need to get rid of our ego ! So blessed I feel when he said that God permits trials in our lives doesnt remove it a s in Moses! Praise God ! We need more such Saints as Monsignor Bishop Fulton J.Sheen. I see him as one !
The woman at the well is very important. Correct. Just because some of the greatest saints are from Samaritans does not mean we have to clean their roots. God has very powerful parables and for that reason too. Our Lord does not say,"Excuse me, you are not of perfect blood. I must cleanse your roots."
Come Holy Spirit, teach us Faith, Hope and Love. Ps 25:1, Mt 5:19 "I embrace the cross of my Jesus. I will carry it like Him in pain and ignominy. I await at His hands triumph and glory in the hereafter" 😇 Bl Anne Marie Taigi pray for us
After the Great Apostasy from the true Catholic religion by the majority of clergy since Vatican II, it is refreshing to hear the true Catholic religion preached by one of the best teachers of the 20th century.
😂😂😂 this is funny really funny..consider if i hear this mistakenly read in the Mass by my fellow Filipino...gratefully i've never had the luck to hear this at any Mass here in the Philippines..😂😂😂 this really got me, 😂😂😂😂
Saint Vincent de Paul was not ugly to me. He is a powerful voice in the world. There are many people called but few are chosen. He was chosen during his life because of his sanctity, humility, love of Saint Lazaru, love of the cross of Jesus Christ and a proud French man ready to pray in silence, not like all the world claims he did. He did not have a strong ego. He had pride in how the name of Jesus Christ wAs being used in his era. Although the world uses his name in a variety of ways today, they fail to pray when they use his name.
Lenore Catalogna . What he meant was that Vincent was an unattractive man in his lifetime that was ostracized. Vincent had a very large bulbous nose. He didn’t have friends in his youth. He gave his life to God and received many blessings but especially love and acceptance. But outwardly he was considered ugly. None of us are rightfully judged by others.
AMEN THANKS GOD AMEN AVE MARIA AMEN VIVA VIVA SENYOR NUESTRO PADRE JESUS NAZARENO AMEN THANKS PO BELOVED VENERABLE BISHOP FULTON JOHN SHEEN AND PRAY FOR US AMEN
Come Holy Spirit, grant us Faith, Hope and Love. Ps 69:5, Mt 13:58 O My God, bring me safe through temptation and strengthen me as Thou didst our own Patron St. Apollonia, through Christ our Lord. Amen 😇 St. Apollonia pray for us sinners
If I must be a pot I should like to be a hanny pot. I shoul like to be a small pot of very expensive cream for face and body that exudes most marvelous perfume. We don't get what we want we get what we are capable for and what makes it easiest to arrive to the everelasting life. All that is real, nothing virtual about it. You are right, we fill our pots with ego, but my pot is full of sorrow That's wrong. I need to fill it with joy of God's mercy to me all my life. And His mighty love for us little once. Thank you. God bless. 🇱🇷👋
nature provided the physical body, but, only god, can give it, the life force, the non physical, soul self. no one, is more important, or less important than anybody else. to think that they are is delusional. maya. and a house divided against itself, cannot survive. this earth, that we all share, is that house
It’s a religious tradition that Moses stuttered but in Exodus 3;4 Moses tells YHWH that he does not apeak Hebrew well. That is traditionally interpreted as Moses saying he had a speech impediment. However when you think about it Moses grew up from the age of 3 months when his mother, Jochibed, sent him down the Nile river in the Royal Court of Egypt so it is likely that Ancient Egyptian was his native tongue. When he fled Egypt at the age of 40 he soent another 40 years living with the Mideans married to Zipporah dughter of Jethro. When did he have time to learn Hebrew? He no doubt knew some Hebrew words to order slaves to do something ut ge actually tells YHWH he as not “ fluent” in Hebrew. So YHWH tells him to tell his brother Aaron who no doubt was bilingual in Egyptian and Hebrew. This then begs the question as to what language YHWH write the Ten Commandments. They are traditionally shown as written in Hebrew a language Moses says he didn’t know well. It could be that YHWH wrote them in Egyptian so Moses could read them and Aaron translate into Hebrew. Moss s not alone on Mount Sinai. The Burning Bush was Mount Horeb unless that was a name different people had for the same mountain. Much later in the Book of Acts Stephen hile addressing the Sanhedrin said that Moses was learned in all the knowledge of Egypt and was a powerful speaker. That doesn’t sound like a stutterer. The tradition that Moses stuttered has developed in the last 2000 years. Muslims believe that as well. I have been writing a book on this for years. I don’t know if anyone would find it interesting. BTW: What wascthe name Moses’ mother gave him? He was 3 months old when she sent him down the river. Moses does not mean “drawn from the water” as the princess who rescued him said. It’s not a real nane but a suffix meaning “ son of” in Egyptian. What was the princess’ name? I know both. Why did she think she could pass off Moses as her son to Pharaoh and be believed? It may have something to do with Moses marrying a Kushite women and his brother Aaron and sister Miriam were angry about that and punished by YHWH. What had happened to Zipporah by then? The Kushites were a black African kingdom subdued and annexed by Egypt about 2500 BC 1000 years before Moses. There’s lots of interesting stuff I can’t write hear without rewriting the whole book. It has to do with the Sphinx and who the Amazons might have been. Also about Bath Kohl the Hand of God we see on thevflag of Northern Ireland as a symbol of the Divine Right to Rule respresenting the Word of God or in Judaism the actual Voice of God. It all ties together.
hope Bishop Sheen is never canonized. My parents used to watch him on TV (when I was little) -- I couldn't stay in the living room -- he scared me. Thanks to Bishop Sheen, my father spent the last years of his life terrorized that he was going to Hell when he (my father) died. I have never liked him and never will.
Oh please forgive me for saying this o lord, but when I see him, this. fulton Sheen guy, I immediately think " Boris Karloff". I can't believe he's related to Martin........!
Roger . That’s all right. I’ve seen your picture. Btw, Boris Karloff was a rather handsome man before his spooky movies. I suspect your not as your picture purports either. Peace brother. No intention to hurt your feelings here, just to say we are not all as we seem.
@@Donna-cc1kt Donna, you're obviously a "Christian", thus you are incapable of hurting me in any way, shape or form...By the way, I ain't yer bro! Save the inappropriately used 'term of endearment' for one of your kind..
THERE IS NO LLEGAL OR LAWFUL HUMAN RIGHTs TO USE NAMES OF CHILDREN WHO ARE NOT WORKER OR TRUE BORN CHILDREN OF THE PARENTS; IISSAC, YOUSEF, JOSEPH AND SUCH ON, ON. THE WINE OF THE BLOOD OF YOUR CHILDRENS WIFE. WHERE SHE GONE. We have out rights to ghavevrelationships with my / our children
Not nice the women were judgemental . Jesus did not say go sin no more He said "go and believe". Jesus wouldnt title us with a negative word no more than our dad calling us a negative name
Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.” These things he said while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum. John 6:53-59 No salvation outside the One Holy Church!
Hi r u. In heaven. Woo. Catholic Idea. Let's get and send 500.000 selfcleaning bathroom to Africa start At 5hee plague. We see were Mr.abel k I approve
he is an entertaining speaker, but then, so is dave allen. what annoys me, about the religion, is that the leaders try to make themselves as important as kings, and preach, only we, can speak for our god, and only we, can forgive your sins. and on occasion they act like tyrants ie go kill the unbelievers ? does that sound like any version of the loving forgiving jesus, their always babbling on about ? if god is love, what does that make them ? you can't preach, one set of rules for us and another set of rules, for you lesser peoples. when are they, going to accept, that god cannot be owned , and they, do not speak for, god, as if, they are god, and are better than all of god's creations. the pope has more gems and crowns than the queen of england, in their, vatican palace. and yet, catholics are starving in the streets. where is the example of love, and self sacrifice in that example ?
WOLFROY47 . Interesting Interpretation you have. I think you have learned these beliefs by an in-believer., but it was someone you trusted. I’m sorry. No priest ever or anywhere or at any time has said he forgives sins for example. He witnesses our contrition, our humility, our regret, our sorrow, our asking God to forgive, our determination to try to make amends. He prays with us and for us so that we are not alone or forgetful of Gods love, mercy & forgiveness. He reassures us , he tells us we are forgiven, not by him but by God. If I am in the state of sin I need that friend. Do you not have support in your life? A friend, a spouse? I could continue but I think I may have put you to sleep. I so sorry you believe such things. Peace brother.
@@Donna-cc1kt my dear lady, i KNOW that god is real, and is LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING. but, i never got that from any priest church or religious organisation. god found me, because i argued with what you perceive to be a man ? GOD IS AN IT, the same as nature, is an it. they keep the balance of all of creation. it's us, that are screwing it up
Romans 16:18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
