I've been experimenting with charcoal for about a year...on and off. Your comment that the compressed charcoal was a 2B or 4B surprised me.......I didn't know compressed charcoal had grades like pencils. Now I know!

I find your videos valuable. I'm learning. And I liked the "pulled-down" effect on the right side eye. But, I was hoping that you would even out the contrast between the values of those vertical bars of charcoal. Is it the light areas that draw us or is it the areas of sharpest contrast...because those sharply contrasting verticals distract me from the face.
