I don't think that was really Oda Nobunaga, he was assassinated in 1582. Earliest camera ever made was in early 1800s. Pretty fake. To get a actual photo of someone of that magnitude would have been astounding.
Here's a lot of townspeople in the mix. It's cosplay for the sake of taking pictures. 1:26 Commoners 2:40 Kabuki actor 3:49 It's tough being an actor, being forced to do like this. This will break the sliding doors before I can get his head off. 4:08 How can there be pictures of people who died in the 1500s? 4:22 Mr. Spock? 4:24 Commoner. 4:32 Kabuki actor 4:34 I laughed at the sword on his back. 4:43 Commoner. The shape of his topknot is different from the samurai. 4:44 Too many interesting parts. I'd like to know why he's putting on the blue obi of women's clothing. 5:21 This is terrible cosplay.
Wow, the score! I need to get a good samurai history book, any recommendations? I can’t get a grasp on whether they were like police, gangsters, soldiers, all that and more? I bet from looking at these pictures it was a combo but I’m ready to do a deep dive, it’s gotta feel right to commit to a few hundred pages of reading so I need to get a book or 3 quick lol
Its not 2 swords the other one is like a dagger they use for suiciding i think the suiciding is called seppuku. Its like what they do if they lost or have shame.
Its a daisho, set of swords. A katana and a wakizashi. For fighting with 2. Often it wasnt allowed to take long swords inside. Short was okay and they could still protect themselves and it was also for seppuku or harikiri.
