Chef G. Chris Owens if you find out how to get it let me know, I got the book but never got to pick it up as I left to airborne school the same day of graduation. paid for the damn thing and would like to have it.
That was my basic battalion cycle. I knew many of those guys. The cycle was from Feb 96 to may 96. That was a cool find. Thanks for posting this. House of Pain!!!!!
I was in the October cycle Right behind yours. D co . So long ago and so many fond memories. I went on to jump school then to Campbell....(wanted the chicken on my shoulder) glad your still around doc.
Graduated in Sept 95. 1st Platoon D/258. 11c. I was known primarily as "Canada" and the "Canadian Moose Mountie" due to my place of birth. I made it, but not an experience I would care to repeat, though I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.
B Co 2/58 INF. 1992. 11M. When I got to my assigned unit, there were 4 Canadians. Were literally talked about like hockey cards. Made me think of this. lol ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-g1awwAgU_t8.html
Guess we were in the same graduating class just different platoons. I thought it was may 2nd though... have to look back at my old pictures@LordDirus007
I remember my first D Sgt being hauled off to jail!!! He apparently was stealing from the footlockers. D sgt Blackburn was his name, his replacement was a badass named D sgt Bill Bailey, I believe he was on a recruiting poster at one point. D sgt Cole, and D Sgt Stull were my others.
This takes me back! C 2/58 to Fort Stewart, after graduating Sniper School went to Iraq three times. Now I'm out and back in my home town. feels like I just woke up from an eight and a half year long dream.
Memories lol. Was A co 2/58 house of pain in 98-99, then to airborne school at benning also. Hated the shit out of it but then I started missing it lol. All in all it was an awesome time!
Wow! Just seen this after 25 years. Echo 2/58 Hell raisers! DS Louderback doing pushups on the range. Haha. Whats the possibility of getting the full length video?
Nice! Glad to hear when someone in this cycle sees this video. If I make it happen I will let you know. I tried lately but the vcr and tape are just so old it looks and sounds horrible. I am glad I made this one when I did! Two Five Eight!
Over the years I lost my VHS tape of my OSUT class mid July through end of October 1996. I was in D 1/19th INF 4th Platoon. I think I see my battle buddy “Chris Wray” coming out of the gas chamber and I think recognize a few of those guys but it was so long ago. If this is that training cycle please message me as I’d like to know if you’d be willing to send me a copy of this video. Thank you!
Omgsh . What about marching up "the hill" towards the end of your last March before graduation. I overheard our DI's joking around saying that was the longest 29 miles they ever did . Was only supposed to be 21. They were mad at us . Is was zero in the morning and I taught a lot of the guys how to build a fireplace in their foxholes without them ever being seen in the dark . Lol
Nicknamed "Baby Drill Sgt." he was new, at the beginning...can't remember his name..different platoon, DS Rodriguez, DS Prieto, Capt. Malone ....3rd Platoon Warlords ...... Good memories
@Mcais2fresh OSUT is One Station Unit Training. Only combat MOSs can do it. My job is Airborne Infantry, 11B, and I have to do it plus jump school. HOOAH!
Ft. Beginning! I see guys in ATL coming and going from basic. I remember when I went through the ATL, flew in, rode out on a bus into the night...to a place few have seen but many have honored! Follow Me!
man when I went through Knox in 02 we werent able to wear MOP gear in there and the DS's told us to take a left when we came out and in our delirious/half blind state half of us ran into a big tree that was immediately to our left. Had the DS's busting out laughing. This video brings back memories...kinda weird feeling nostalgia for that time though.
Dude, I went thru about 10 months ago, and watching this video, honestly makes me jealous cause I feel like we didnt get the best training, and I dont think it was even close to as hard as what you went thru. I was at 2/58 as well Bushmasters "Love of Country"
Omgsh the memories. 1996 D-2/54. Ran across these videos and got taken back in time . Was my squad leader right out of the bag because I was 28 and older than most . And did 68 push-ups on my first Pat test. 86 on my last. . Our Fs loui had the record at 112 . Crazy lil comma chin bastard . Lol . The guys made me pay for my age lol . I miss them all . Even the lil blond asshole they sent to OCS . Ive never looked anybody up.....because I just don't want to know . Im sure a lot of yall understand that..
I was in 2/54 doing basic from August to November also in 1996. I bought a copy of my basic but I lost it in a flood. Do you by chance know of a way to get another one.
woodland/desert BDU patterns on the modern day ACU/Multicam fabric (no velcro) would be best. Effective and minimal maintenance. ASU is fine, but I would've preferred a tan shirt with the green trousers and jackets, and a separate set as blues. But it's not the uniform, it's the soldier wearing it that matters.
My drill seargents were hernandez. Santiago. And that samoan mcd...sumn...i remember hutto...dude was a straight comedian...then some of guys went to freaknik on pass what a wonderful osut lol
Good times! The DS saw that I was holding in my breath so he had me doing push-ups and side straddle hops to make sure I got a nice taste in my lungs. Ha!
Are you asking where you will train? I was infantry and deployed 2007-2008 to Iraq. Training was all at Sand Hill Ft. Benning Georgia. 12 weeks. Beautiful place actually. The training was stupid. Most of my D.S.'s were fat. I saw other D.S.'s who were also fat. One had what looked like a head coming out of another head he was so fat. As long as you do what they ask and go out there in some kind of shape you'll be fine. I went in in stellar shape. Came out and had to get back into shape. Stupid.
