Please be clear this is history, never has there been a more perfect fit for funk and hip hop, if this don't get the party started your at a funeral!!!!!!
This the shit dawg. Eric's like Zorro, slicin' his "E" (not Z) on your back, where a tat should be at, that's the phat. Jungle Boogie outta Brentwood, Strong Island, know what I mean, Clean? Sermonizin' from the pulpit, like Malcolm, only doper. You gots to feel the funk the Green-Eyed Bandit spits so you can free your mind so your ass will follow, not your ego. That raw street soul music just ain't no more. Like Dr Funkenstein said, "Oh it was cool, but can you imagine Diddie in your funk?
📻🎶🎶 "When I'm on the scene I always rock the spot I grab the steel with the crown on top In the beginning, I like to let my rhymes flow And at twelve I press cruise control Sit back and relax, let my rhymes tax Maintain MC's while the Double E macks Always calm under pressure, no need to act ill Listen when I tell you boy, you gots to chill...." 🎶🎶
I actually have a promo version of their debut single on vinyl. "It's My Thang/You're A Customer" released in 1987. Hard to believe that's a quarter century ago! Easily my favorite rap duo next to Run DMC. I could count Kool Keith and Ced Gee too, but Ultramag was more of a group thing.
