In addition to the series mentioned in the video, I would really like to see these story lines being continued: - Red Axe: I've been told the RS3 continuation has been great, and I really like the Keldagrim/dwarf vibe of the current quests - Fairytale: We really need to get rid of those orcs in Zanaris - Myreque: Very interesting story line that I would say has at least 2 more quests in it
I really wanna see a questline that explains more about the god Xau-Tak in OSRS - something that goes into more detail about the shadow realm, blackstone, and even all the weird shit on Mos le Harmless like the blackstone totem in the middle of the pirate town on the island, the origin of the black masks/carvings, and what happened to the cave horrors/ jungle horrors. There's been so many subtle hints lying in plain sight since like 2005-2006 that haven't been elaborated on further until recently with the release of DT2 (not including RS3). Like in DT2, if a single blackstone totem messed up the mind of the player, the whisperer, and the whole city Lassar under city, what effect does the same blackstone totem have on the island of Mos le Harmless? Its kind of just chilling there. And how does the black slayer mask work if its made of blackstone? And why were the black masks and similar looking symbols carved out of blackstone under Mos le Harmless in the first place? Did the Horror species get mind fucked by the blackstone? Were they sentient creatures before having their minds warped by Xau-Tak? Also the odd old man from the Rag and bone man quest is somehow involved with Xau-Tak? Is that what's whispering to him from the bag of bones on his back? I need some answers man, so many loose ends. I know a lot of this has been answered in RS3, but I'm really not really a fan of the direction RS3 went with the contrived over-the-top, "literal gods fighting in Lumbridge", "player is the chosen one" type of storyline, but I feel like the old school team has done a great job with the quest lines so far; keeping them exciting yet grounded in the lore, and realistic/believable with the standards already set in the in-game world. I feel like a Xau-Tak lore based quest could go down a pretty dark path and introduce some really cool stuff. It could branch off from the Mahjarrat quest line and continue the Rag-and-Bone Man and pirate questlines.
100% with you on that - I didn't really know about it until I began researching more into the lore, and it's really interesting. With all the things that you've described, Xau-Tak does sound like he's a villain just waiting in the shadows, slowly spreading corruption wherever the blackstone is. I feel like with that, and how you mentioned how grounded we are in the lore, we're not going to get a magical macguffin that can suddenly kill an elder god. Let's hope they end up exploring Xau-Tak more as time goes on. It was great to see him at work in DT2
I would love to see While guthix sleeps, Nomad's requiem and The chosen commander. These 3 quests story was so good that it left an impression on me while i was a noob questing for my quest cape for the very first time pre-eoc. Would also love to temple of senntisten for curse prayers but that'll never make it into osrs sadly
Honestly, as much as I want to see some big questlines continue, the quest that most got me excited in the last while was actually Garden of Death. I like those little incidental quests that don't have any larger bearing on the world or the story and just serve to make Gielinor feel lived in. So, personally, I want more Twisted Tales. That being said, I'll just be glad to have a big quest that isn't just "Thing you Already Like II". I don't mind sequels, and Dragon slayer II, Monkey Madness II, and Desert Treasure II are all good quests, but I miss the good old days when sequels actually had their own distinctive names and identities. Like, Shadow of the Storm is straight up just Demon Slayer II, but I'm glad they didn't call it that.
I would like to see a quest on the lore of the barrows brothers and how they went from farmers to soldiers in the morytania campaign. Like in Kindred Spirits in RS3 but more detailed.

The OSRS version for While Guthix Sleeps and continuation of Cold War, those are two of my top three most wanted questlines (the 3rd being Varlamore's because of the Solaire reference in Kourend Castle).
I'm quite certain While Guthix Sleeps will proceed almost as a carbon copy of its RS3 counterpart. Since Sliske is intending to circumvent the Ritual and end it, a feat which only occured in RS3 deep into the Elder Gods questline with the death of Mah and also that they did not need to do it in the first place while sacrificing their own. That should make for an interesting version of Ritual of the Mahjarrat since Sliske appears to be going against Zaros and the others much earlier in the timeline. I suspect he'll kill Zaros at some point since OSRS won't do a World Wakes quest.
Yeah from the Q&A the team done after Secrets of the North, it seems like WGS will end up being a carbon copy essentially - Will be really interesting to see what Sliske's end game is considering he's played his hand so early. Really interesting theory to consider
Keep the content going. I've always wanted an audiobook describing the lore of some of the most exciting and interesting quest lines in osrs. Sometimes our players adventure really feels like it could be written in a journal and told as an amazing story. It's a shame because whilst playing I'm guilty of tapping the space bar to progress and miss out on all the cool moments so hearing it from you is sweet😊
Thank you! Yeah it absolutely does, which is why Runescape quests work so well I think - we very much live the adventure and can find out the history behind everything that's happening. We've all done it man so don't worry!
With sailling release, i wouldnt be surprise if we got a sequence of Monkey Madness III. Im really waiting jagex to reveal that the Three Wise Monkeys are humans with Monkey Gree Grees like us and that the origins of their names comes from the Eastern Lands... Wich are a region said to exist across the sea from Morytania. (Jagex also made some pranks of the eastern lands and sailing skill in april fools 2014)
I hope they actually make insanely big world ending threats in osrs too. Sliske's game and the reveals during it were incredible. The whole buildup to Extinction and the quest itself was literally THE best. I hope they can match the scale and give a similar experience in the future ( Which idk how they'll do it without gods descending lol)
The main thing I can think of is if the Xau-Tak storyline ever continues and gets built on - He may be an elder god, but we've seen little hints in the pirate storylines, and most recently the DT2 in Lassar, so he's definitely not forgotten about. It's the whole "Do you really think you can save them?" that's very omnious
@@Gravitybind Yeah but RS3 is probably gonna turn Zaros into Xau-Tak as he's disappeared into Erebus and isn't seen again. I don't know he himself is gonna turn into Xau-Tak (Possible because we don't know how time in Erebus works or the extent of Xau-Tak's powers + Zaros had aspects of black stone himself). Because they aren't gonna make gods descend Xau-Tak is probably gonna be its own thing (if they make it a thing) and I think that's better than turning Zaros into him.

I remember when I was getting my QPC in RS3 I was surprised by how good the Tzhaar and Dwarf questlines were so I wouldnt be opposed to seeing those. I do agree OS should avoid involving the gods as much as they did in RS3, everything just gets kinds messy and they have to introduce gods above gods and maguffins that kill gods and god eggs and its just too much. My money is on a version of RotM being the next big major quest though. Maybe THEN well get the ruinous powers lmao
Honestly I quit RS3 when the EOC hit and I havent really looked into it, aside from getting a quick rundown of major events - I'll need to look into the RS3 Tzhaar and Dwarves, considering OSRS ones arent as developed. Would be good looking into the differences between stories. I mean yeah maybe we will get ruinous powers then, I feel like RotM will be interesting considering how DT2 ended, with Sliske's plans.
Man I love the penguin storyline getting some love, I think it is one of the most original quests of the game. You turn and run as a penguin which is pretty fun, you have to use the specific emotes and they designed an exclusive agility course that you can never use again. It's a shame it is forgotten by most players and devs. I really want to have more of it :(
But tbh I did quit OSRS after 3 yrs and reaching the endgame and basically getting tired of weird/bad updates and most importantly the bad community. And I think another huge problem with OSRS that most of the players don't even realize is how much content is very similar to RS3. Not just items and areas and quests but also characters. Like, if they want to do something with While Guthix Sleeps or ROTM or Sliske, why do they have the same names as the OG RS entities? These quests and characters are already established; it's like rewritting characters for OSRS but not changing anything about them besides some dialogue and motivations in a quest but they have the same name. It's kinda like Mortal Kombat 1 rewritting characters (for the 3rd time).
Very nice video, menaphos after sailing would work if they do have a big port there, also i really hope we get good rewards from whilst guthix sleeps, hopefully the prayers/ancient curses this time as all links up could fit well.
I never ended up completing it honestly - I dipped out of RS3 when EOC happened and never picked up until OSRS, but it seems like a really beloved quest
Vampire quest line spoilers After the events of sins of the father if there was ever a Vampyre Slayer II it would have to be the final quest of the entire vampyre series as the Drakans have been dying starting from draynor to Ranis, maybe it’ll be a quest where unlike the others the adventurer fights malak, Lowerniel, and maybe his sister all by himself maybe with the assistance of Ivan
I feel like I was one of the rare players that enjoyed most quests in Original RS and OSRS. A lot of OSRS players just do them for the rewards and skip the story. However I do largely disagree with the way OSRS does quests. Other than obvious stuff holding them back to modern games like voice acting and animations/cutscenes, I think the quests still largely follow RS3 stories (which, be honest they really should). And Ed/the playerbase saying "the player will never be an important character/you won't meet or interact with gods" is just lame IMO. Yes, a lot of games go down that route of a lowly nobody who ends up flirting and defeating gods (like what RS3 and other RPGs does), going against that to try and be different while telling a lamer story and raids is just a bad idea. Who wants to fight minions and wardens of the gods forever, instead of actually being an important character in the lore and dealing with Amascut for example? Our character already fights characters like Zuk, Verzik, Olm and Vorkath, so why limit what happens in the quests?
The implications of the stone of jas being in gotr quest cutscene is massive Sliske too, very much seems were going into elder Godwars ( lore wise ) Also one of the best parts of osrs is the sheer fact your char is a dumbass in the world
I looked at the wiki and there are a lot more questlines than i remembered that still need to be completed. Osrs gave us an update on the Dorgeshuun series with Land of the Goblins quest which is also looks into a God (Bandos) so that would be interesting to see how they try to wrap that saga. We also cant forget about the Dwarf/Red Axe storyline which also needs a continuation to wrap it up. Even elemental workshop could use one last quest to see whats beyond the Body door or could also remain as a dark secret of the past that not even the adventurer can uncover. I also would like to see some new quests that create a different saga, I think that Valamore would be a great place to introduce a new saga and bring up new characters and to also wrap up the Xeric questline, to give the players something that we can't look at RS3 to see what direction these future quests will take.
Yeah there are a lot of loose ends with questlines - all the ones you mentioned have definitely stuck in my mind at least. I remember doing elemental workshop is RS2 very vividly for some reason as a kid. But you are right - Varlamore should be great, there's a good chance they'll end up continuing the Xeric questline, the assassination of King Kandur in A Kingdom Divided, and a lot of new quests from the zone. Looking forward to it
