Man this brings back memories. I remember I needed a Rathalos ruby for something and i farmed the crap out of this guy till I could beat it without too much trouble. It also didn't help that I didn't get the ruby till 20 hunts later. Focus the wings and get the tail during his fireball moves then the rest ain't too bad. That flying attack though is tricky and has killed me countless times. Great game and Good memories!

Here's a trick you can do to help deal with Rathalos roar+fireball combo: If you position yourself infront of its left leg when it's about to roar, that leg is moved forwards during the road. This will deal a little chip damage and knock you out of the stun early.

I grew up with this game. Never got far, so I never did this fight, but that is some serious level of jank Mr Rathalos' part. Kudos to you sticking through, I would've ragequit.

2:52 killed me so many times, unavoidably if you don’t have a weapon with blocks. High grade earplugs was so critical in this game. Also dude, do old plesioth. The hitbox on that shoulder check was brutal! Especially hard with the weak gear you have at that stage.

The fireball at 5:06 is the sum of my experience with this variant. It's like they know to fire in advance of your direction while adjusting for the extended hitbox.

Need to pay attention how easily your weapon passes through. Metal raths are weak on wings to cutting damage and impact on head in 2nd gen. (Yes, even without breaking the head.) Start focusing the wings with LS and it'll become much easier.

I remember clearing this with my Kirin set and Naar Thunderlance. Good times.

Love MHFU, I just started playing frontier and it's getting reallllllly hard.

I have a lot of knowledge on mhf1 and mhfu but outside of that I have little knowledge on the other mh games, and well, the biggest error you are doing is trying to get a ruby on hr since it will be so frustrating for the mayority of players that is not even worth trying and the weapons you can get at hr with a ruby are not really worth that effort on mhfu since you can go to G rank and get better stuff for the same effort. But I make those same errors when playing something like mh4u or mh world and start using the wrong set in the wrong mission to get a material, the problem is finding someone that tells you the better path to go, since it is a singleplayer specially at the beginning. So probably the developers meant the decisions on village to be this way, so you can learn from the errors.

personally, other than the 30min fight I usually end up doing(I slash the head after tail), he ain't hard in the slightest, same tells for los-fireball & los-charge, same clock-wise spin. most of the time I just end up overhead-overhead-fade or overhead-fade. probs if I tried slashing the wings for more dmg, I could kill it faster, but still killable.

Honestly, i don't know how a Rath does that much damage in High Rank, and I'm scared to find out.

I still play portable 3rd because the the combat is just so simple. In Rise you have to do devil may cry combos and shit.

I used to long sword and great sword. Then i realised that in order to fully immerse your self and enjoy, you. Need to master all weapons. This guy is cake for me the light machine guns. You just need to make twn flash bombs on field and bring with you.

Those who play and clear old gen 3 and lower MH can be called as master, old gen MH is unforgiving for their movement, as seen on the video, wrong movement in wrong time and you are done for, they don't have those fancy move like aerial, leaping and grapling around back then, wrong attack you fucked up, wrong dodge more fucked up, wrong timing even more fucked up, but at least it sharpen your sense of monster movement and your wise timing and decision making, I felt it greatly after MH 4 and generation with more advanced movement, I can dance with the monster in other series after generetion

Yes the admiredfob way is the best way in monsterhunter freedom unite. Hammering everything is what made this game so satisfying despite the character movement speed being so cruel to players..

if u fight flying monster or wyvern type always carry flash bomb if monster flying in air flash it and attack. if the monster have ye yeah haha

I would say he's a little bit annoying if your farming you have to go all through those breakings cutting tails...but if you go only for the kill it's a little bit easier coz' your focusing on one part which is his weakness his wings...

In comparison to Sunbreak, getting a Ruby in unite was more or less a blessing from the RNG Gods. In Sunbreak however it was more like a ruby bargaining sale
