Real old school sneakerheads didn't have to camp out for shit. Screw spending the night for shoes. I remember walking up to the mall early in the morning like 8am or something and still getting my pair no hassle. That only started since the Concords came out. After that it came to camping out for absolutely everything.
n00bsVDOZ I remembered in HS when the Auqa's (08?) came out I got to the store early in the morning of release and got a pair easily. Did the same with my True Blue and WC 3's in '11. Camped out once due to Olympic 7's which I've always wanted and it was terrible even though I still got them.
+Isaiah Quidilla camping out started way before that, unless you're talking about the Concords from 2000. At least in the NJ/NYC area, people have been camping out for well over a decade. The first Altitude XIII release was insane in 2005. Hell, people camped out for the Cool Grey XIs in 2001. The Concord release in 2011 just garnered more national attention than most releases. Those ugly White/Red X's from 2005 even got some national attention when people were lined up the night before.

It might be important to know that these kids who don't care about the history never really lived through this history, so it isn't really important to them. As they get older, the history that is attached to, say, lebrons, might become relevant to them.

Man I remember the good old days of the sneaker game. Dunks were still mad respected, 11's were the retro that was breaking the bank, when he grape 5's retro'ed in 2006 I think it was, I was there front and center! It was an easy cop but that was when I knew the shoe game is where the moneys at. Ill never forget those times, now the game is oversaturated with "new sneaker heads" and resellers. It's awesome to see some one get into shoes because they like them, but these new cats who think you're the man becasuse of the shoes that are on your feet, y'all cats needa go on somewhere. pretty much, But I would be lying if I said that some old sneaker heads were not. They just caught on to the hype low key and copied the real fashion heads styles.... I mean my first pair was in 98 when I was 8 years old so ive been a fan and was so proud of my bred 13's back then. I never stopped, and I had many other amazing pairs of basketball shoes than MJ's.
dude im like 16 years old, and i own a pair of space jam 11s, concord 11s, carmine 6s, fire red 5s, black and white cement 3s, last shot 14s, chicago 1s, bred 1s, white cement 4s, olympic 7s, playoff 12s, flu game 12s, cherry 12s, and my recent pair i took a W on was the bred 4s, and the history on these shoes are iconic, and has made a name for itself, i learned the all the history from my older brother, and watching all the mj highlights in every shoe he wore from the 1-14, it was just amazing.
Thats a solid collection so far man. Deff an old head's definition of heat. You can't go wrong with black and white cement 3's and 4's. as well as 1's in general. Carmine six's are slept on hard. I'de recommend some aqua 8's or even some chrome 8's. playoff's too. The playoff cw's are classic. lol you got me getting hyped over here haha.

I'm an old one except for cleaning, I use Jason Markk and regular Soap combined ^^ Guy in my School runs around with Court Visions and Flights and says they're dope af and he thinks he knows anything bout the shoe game. Never talk to him again...

Richie, you should do a video called Sneakerheads vs Resellers because this is what the game has turned into. It used to be easy for Sneakerheads to get the shoe they wanted because we didn't have to contend with resellers trying to buy up everything just to resell and make a quick buck.

But there are still lots of people camping outside Solebox, Size?, Titolo, Hanon etc. to cop some newest collabo shoes (mostly runners, like I said before).
Silica packs prevent yellowing from icy soles. Icing soles with seaglow sorta helps but only to a certain extent. If you really want to prevent yellowing get sole protectors.
A lot of the old ones, are growing older..like myself are beginning to branch out to the runners and other brands. Once in a while, we'll cop the nikes/J's that got us started.
