First an foremost, sending love an prayers for Sonny to be well! This is a stunning toy chest for Sonny to enjoy and pass on to his kiddos 😊! What a stunning gorgeous heartfelt gift for him! Love the wood grain and gorgeous stain! Blessings to you and your beautiful family! 😊❤
I hope so too, that's why I tried to not go too kiddo on it. Kids grow out of things so fast but I hope this stays fashionable to him for a few years yet ;)
Hello from California. Chinese girls had their dowries in teak chests (brass latch). I have my mom's huge and heavy one. Unfortunately, someone gave up and left it for dead. Fortunately, you saved it and repurposed it. Great job, thank you. Health and peace to you and your family.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. I am sure you cherish your moms piece, nice to keep them in the family :) Hopefully Sonny does the same!
Hope Sonny gets better soon. As a parent there is nothing worse when your baby is unwell and you can't make them better. Big hugs to the little man. Yet again you make something beautiful again. Congratulations
Even small health issues can be very scary for mom & dad. Glad that Sonny is over the worst. What a great piece of furniture! I love a toybox that doesn't look like a toy itself. Beauty. Thanks for sharing
Thank you. I really appreciated your little pep talk at the beginning of this video on how to work with what you've got. I've been running myself nuts trying to get a lot of tools I probably don't really need. Your talk helped me put that into perspective. Watching you work solidified my appreciation. This was a great rescue.
Papa Nation you did it again 😁. It looks absolutely stunning. I was sad to hear QC hasn't been well but I hope he has fully recovered now. Glad he loves his chest.
I think Pam Sheets said it best n DIDO I feel the same. You did a fantastic job on this chest. Adding the brass to hide the crack was a perfect idea plus more character to the chest. Your sign for Sonny is very meaningful. He will carry this chest through his life n on to his children. As he gets older he will love n appreciate it even more. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟 PS. Prayers lifted up for Sonny 🙏
Such a lovely comment, thank you so much Shelly. I really hope he does hang onto it and then pass it down, I think you are right about it meaning more to him as he gets older :)
What a thoughtful project and gift. Throughout his life, he'll be able to enjoy it and perhaps it will also be in his home for his own kid one day. Blessings.
Sorry you’ve had a rough time- but I’m so glad to hear that Sonny is well enough to be home! I love the freedom to make the choices that appeal to me when I work on a piece for myself. I love the brass strip and would never have thought to do that. Nice! One thing you might consider, is drilling a small air hole into the side somewhere, even though the lid raises so easily. Just to be extra safe.
What a handsome piece for such a handsome little guy! Sorry to hear that he was sick, and best wishes to him for a speedy recovery. And blessings to your entire family--thank you for sharing him with us!
Sending little Sonny lots of cuddles. It’s rough when a little one isn’t feeling well. I love the new finish, and the strips of brass are a gorgeous flash of absolute genius. What a beautiful contrast to the wood!
I'm sorry to hear your little guy isn't feeling well. I hope you get answers and a speedy recovery! This chest is absolutely beautiful. I love the brass inlays and the lovely handle.
Aw your little Sonny❤ I hope he is feeling better. I’ve got a grandson called Sonny, named after my father in law he passed away last month and seeing “Ray of Sonny” made me think of him. Ohhh and the tasteful toy chest looks amazing. Family heirloom now❤❤❤
I am sorry for your loss, and very recent too. It is such a special name (obviously I think so ;) and your grandson is likely one extra loved little lad. It's nice to hear it made you think of your father in law, thank you :)
First of all I hope Sonny is better. It is so hard when out littles are not feeling well. I love the chest and the dedication to Sonny. He will love that his whole life!
I love the way this turned out and seeing his chubby little hands opening it made my heart smile 😍. I'm so glad he's home and on the mend!!!! Its much harder on the parent isn't it?!
So much harder!!! It's also so hard when they can't tell you whats wrong and don't understand all the tests etc. Pleased he is on the mend and almost back to his happy content little self :) Thank you Kim
