I come back to this video practically everyday since I first saw it. The music is so beautiful! I love the sound of a fiddle and especially Civil War era tunes.
It is SOOOO nice to hear music played on an instrument!! Am exhausted of the synthesized nonsense today. This was and is something I have and will listen to many times! Thank you for uploading this.
This song is "Star of the County Down" - I really like this style. I learned a slightly different version recorded by Dave Rainwater. I'm always fascinated by different interpretations of a song. That's what keeps me INSPIRED, so thank you very much.
I am honored that you would pick my tune to play first, that's the way you do it,pick tunes you really like and work on them,it will get easier, but half the fun is learning
That's a beautiful rendition of "Southern Soldier Boy". This song of the American Civil War was written in 1863 by Captain G.W. Alexander and set to the traditional Irish tune, “The Boy With the Auburn Hair”. If you want to try your hand at it, here's sheet music and a backing track: musescore.com/user/643986/scores/5411457
