BMW must've got their design inspiration from their former counterpart at rover, the headlight/indicator combo and taillight shape puts me in mind of the early rover 45s
@schmeckt "millenium future idea weird car", yeah yeah tell it mercedes W210-211 / bentley / rover and much other. it was a common scenario for "glasses" like style of front headlights.lol
Josh Bacon With the original E36 based compact there was no 6 cylinder option available with the 323ti only being available in Europe. The E46 based compact was available in the 325ti 6 cylinder like the one in the video in the U.K
I think the headlights of my silver 1998 318 ti is better looking. My wife and I bought it brand new and now has only 61,300+ actual miles. It's not popular here in L.A. but a friend of mine mentioned that my car was made in Germany and is more reliable and better assembled than new BMW models that are currently being made here in USA. I really don't know if this is true.
love how everybody agrees like sheep with reviewers opinion on styling. It looks nothing like a jag or rover etc. I was up for buying one of these 5 years ago. At the time, it made the 3 series built at the same time as the compact look prehistoric. Little boys who were toddlers when this car was on the road, or were in their dad's sack should probably just watch the videos and keep their worthless opinions to themselves!
It isn't moot in the slightest. The inference, which you failed to notice, was that BMW made the Compact especially for those that couldn't afford a BMW before the Compact existed. Maybe I should have written: "The BMW 3 Series Compact. For people who couldn't otherwise afford a BMW." if that makes you feel better. Don't know what my IQ is but I have a degree in engineering and am a consultant engineer, so it's probably higher than 72.
Lewis72 You tried to mock people based on economic situation/class. That makes you rude and a bad person and you should probably rethink your behavior towards others
